In a startling incident in Chon Buri, Thailand, a road dispute turned violent when a man attacked another's car with an axe. The victim, Withit, 31, reported that his wife and their five-year-old son were in the vehicle during the attack.

The confrontation unfolded on June 17 at the Nong Chark Intersection on Route 344. Withit had paused at a traffic light with his family en route to his son's school. When the light turned green, his brief delay reportedly angered the driver of a black sedan behind him.

The impatient driver, wielding both a knife and an axe, aggressively manoeuvred around Withit, cutting him off before pulling over near the school. Withit continued driving without engaging but was soon cornered when he turned into an alley to park.

As Withit prepared to drop off his son, the suspect blocked his car, emerged with the weapons, and struck the right side of Withit’s vehicle near the child’s seat. Fearing for their safety, Withit quickly fled and later filed a police report at Ban Bueng Police Station.

Authorities traced the sedan to a woman who denied any knowledge of someone borrowing her car. She is due for questioning on June 24, as police continue their investigation.

The incident has sparked a heated discussion online. While some criticise Withit's driving, others contend that violence and weapons have no place in resolving road disputes. This episode serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can escalate from a momentary lapse on the road.
