I hate how there's so many bars, it's so in your face all the time! Ban alcohol! /s

People don't like it cause stigma, you can't apply this logic to anything else hamburgers, massages, etc. Stop trying to pretend it's anything else.

So what if there are lots of cannabis stores? Did the cannabis store touch you?

peoples aversion to cannabis is  due to the refer madness propaganda of 100 years ago, Its actually a testament to the power of propaganda, It is no different than advertising in its ability to affect peoples thinking. Unlike advertising however there is no obligation to stick to the truth.  Its only to be expected that a few simpletons will fall for the hype , and even start spreading it themselves. One only has to look at the covid "pandemic" to see examples, eg more small minded idiots screaming at others to mask up etc

Hey, I get that there’s a lot of myths about weed out there, but let’s talk facts.

Cannabis is not some harmless party relic from the ‘70s — it’s a medicine and a recreational substance used responsibly worldwide.

Yes, cannabis is psychoactive, but the vast majority of users do NOT experience psychotic episodes. Scientific studies show that psychosis linked to cannabis is extremely rare and usually associated with pre-existing conditions or heavy, prolonged use of very high THC products.

Violence is NOT a typical effect of cannabis. In fact, many studies find cannabis tends to reduce aggression and anxiety in most users. You are 100% wrong on this one.

Phuket and Pattaya have their own complex social issues, but blaming cannabis for violent outbursts is misleading and ignores bigger factors like alcohol abuse, economic stresses, and other social problems.

Countries that have legalized cannabis, like Canada and parts of the US, track these stats closely — no spike in violence has been linked to cannabis legalization.

So let me get this straight: you're blaming cannabis for violence…

But alcohol, the legal, socially accepted drug that’s directly linked to:

  • Drunk driving deaths

  • Domestic violence

  • Bar fights and street brawls

  • Liver disease and long-term health damage

  • Blackouts and reckless behavior

…gets a free pass?

Meanwhile, cannabis users are mostly at home eating snacks, watching Netflix, and forgetting where they left their phone, not starting fights in Bangla Road at 2 a.m.

The data doesn’t lie:

  • Alcohol is involved in 40%+ of violent crimes globally

  • Cannabis? Almost none. In fact, it’s often used to treat anxiety and aggression.

You’re worried about someone giggling at a tree or ordering too many snacks?

I am aware.of the medicinal benefits....but that is not the reason people here are get wacked of there nut for....anyway, shops are getting closed down and soon enough it will be criminalised also, so time to look for a new place to act your spaced out fantasies

So a study over 8 years by various western countries....is rubbish 😁 😁 😁

yes, now you are starting to understand. every single "study" commissioned has been for the sole purpose of keeping cannabis illegal, Those conducting the research are only too aware of this,if they want their funding to continue they need to provide acceptable results. Why are you so willing to believe all you hear? the simple answer is that it reinforces your irrational fears which as I said before are based on old propaganda from the good old USA.

Making things up again ? No I do not believe studies on alcohol and I never said I did,  However in my 63 years on this planet I have seen with my own eyes the associated problems. All the alleged negativity you mistakenly connect to cannabis pales into insignificance by comparison.

Your entire anti cannabis attitude is , as I said before, based on outdated propaganda courtesy of governments.  You are the ideal compliant citizen who believes all he is told, and that is not a compliment

Lately, I keep seeing these bizarre, exaggerated stories floating around, like “someone mutilated their feet on weed” or “they smoked and started stabbing people.” It’s laughable. Most of the time, the people spreading this stuff have never even touched cannabis, let alone taken the time to understand it.

The exaggerated and mythical accounts of people mutilating themselves etc always appear in the news around the time any change in regulations are due to take place.  There are always useful idiots who will believe what they are told by the authorities

Another hippy relying on the 1970s Woodstock era myth of marijuana is harmless. It's not!!!..it's a dangerous mind altering drug that causes abnormal behaviour in it's users...including physcotic episodes which can lead to violence. No wonder there is so many violent outbursts each day in Phuket and Pattaya

First of all, I am and never have been a hippie. I was born later.

30 years of using cannabis hasn`t done me any harm, on the contrary, I have had a successful career in the Hotel business, Hospitality sector, Education and Marketing.

I am suffering from a rare disease for more than 20 years and I am fully supported by medical staff regarding the use of medical cannabis. Besides, it helps me to keep opioid medication on a very low scale. Otherwise, I would be hooked to these deadly opioid drugs.

No wonder there is so many violent outbursts each day in Phuket and Pattaya: Has nothing to do with it. The trigger of these kind of people doing stupid stuff is excessive alcohol use, using additionally other drugs or did you see any violent outbursts at Woodstock?

May you be blessed with your own wisdom. Opponents of cannabis have the right for their say. But please stay within the facts.

Medical use LOL. Isn't that how morphine and heroin are used? For medical use? But it didn't really work out; did it?

What didn't work out? The "morphine" used in medecine is diacetyl morphine: (CH₃CO)₂ -Morphine. Diacetyl morphine is heroin but it wouldn't sound good to call it that, would it? It is a shame that people who call for the death penalty for dealers should be entitled to such painkillers when they come to the end of their despicable lives. They should be restricted to acetaminophen.

The medical case cannabis has largerly been a way to make any kind of legalisation acceptable for the bigotted masses. It has been so in the US as well.
