French President Macron Slams Baseless Rumours Claiming His Wife Is a Man

So you think the case should be dismissed? I agree. It's 1 rich woman criticising another.

Defamation can be a crime, but is often treated as a civil issue.

The legal system treats it as a way to balance freedom of speech with protection of reputation.

So no....she should sue her ass off

Being called a man is a compliment. Men built 99% of stuff. Men are physically stronger. If someone called me Usain Bolt it's a compliment.

It would be impossible to describe a weed "person" such as you to a world renowned athlete such as him!

Calling someone a "man" is not defamation. Defamation involves making a false statement of fact that harms someone's reputation. Simply referring to someone as a "man" is a statement of gender identity or biological sex, not a false or harmful assertion that would constitute defamation.

For a statement to be defamatory, it must meet several criteria: it must be a false statement of fact, communicated to a third party, and result in harm to the subject's reputation or livelihood. Merely using a term like "man" does not meet these legal standards.

If the context or intent behind using the term "man" were to imply something false and damaging (e.g., falsely accusing someone of being a different gender to harm their reputation), then it could potentially be considered defamatory, but this would depend on the specific circumstances and intent behind the statement.

Why This Case Could Qualify as Defamation

False Statement of Fact: Owens repeatedly claimed Brigitte Macron was born male and transitioned — even naming her as “Jean-Michel Trogneux,” her brother.

Reckless Disregard for Truth: The Macrons allege Owens ignored multiple retraction requests and credible evidence disproving her claims.

Harm to Reputation: The lawsuit describes “global humiliation,” “relentless bullying,” and reputational damage to both Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron.

Malicious Intent: The complaint argues Owens monetized the claims through a podcast series and social media campaign, suggesting intent to profit from falsehoods.

Owens is dead meat.

On January 20, 2025, his first day in office, Trump signed Executive Order (EO) 14149, titled “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship,” which aimed to extend unfettered protection for free expression and denounced government censorship as intolerable in a free society.

Bit creepy

In 1993, at the age of 39, she met the 15-year-old Emmanuel Macron in La Providence High School,[37][38] where she was a teacher and he was a student and a classmate of her daughter.[39] Brigitte divorced Auzière in January 2006 and married Macron on 20 October 2007.[40

So he was 29 and she was 53 when married. Already post menopause.

So?

At least he has a wife and lives in a palace!
