Wat Nai Rai School in Rayong has conducted a full-scale emergency response drill to prepare students and staff for potential incidents involving hazardous chemicals, dangerous materials and explosive devices.

The exercise, part of the school’s 2025 academic year safety initiative, took place at the school in Pae subdistrict, Mueang district, Rayong province. It was overseen by the school’s director, Dr Alisa Inprasert, alongside Deputy Director Siriyaporn Chomthong, teachers, and educational staff. The event was held in collaboration with the Ban Phe Subdistrict Municipality and local emergency response agencies.

Key municipal officials taking part included Ms Walaya Patyurak, Head of the Municipal Clerk’s Office, Ms Natthanicha Teprakon, Head of Administration, and Ms Busakorn Klongjai, a disaster prevention and mitigation specialist. They were joined by representatives from Ban Phe Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, Sawang Porakun Rescue Unit, Ban Phe Police Station and the Rayong Provincial EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Special Operations Team.

Dr Alisa stated, “The aim of this exercise is to ensure the readiness of students, teachers, and school staff in the event of an emergency involving chemicals or hazardous materials. It helps to build awareness, develop practical safety skills and foster coordination between the school and external emergency units to minimise risks and ensure a safe educational environment.”

The drill featured realistic simulations including scenario assessment, evacuation procedures, emergency response and securing the area. The hands-on training allowed participants to practise responding efficiently under pressure.

The event was well-received, drawing strong participation and cooperation from students, school personnel and local agencies. It highlights Wat Nai Rai School’s continued commitment to creating a safe and prepared learning environment capable of responding effectively to any emergency.
