I smoked my weed in the swamps back in the 80'ies at Zephyrhills while living there in my late teens skydiving! Also smoked a few joints at Tonsai Beach Ao Nang while living there and climbing.

 

But the difference from you I outgrew from those habits, and did not force it on everybody who don't donor like it. 

 

So how's your life when getting annoyed by your own mistakes by not understand why your imagine rights being taken away from you, because you and your clan do not understand there is consequences being stupid?

Is this cannabis issue going to become like the tourism numbers issue ? One day it's not enough, another day it's a lot. And consequently, one day legal, the next day, illegal ? This is Thailand after all !!!

Used to visit Skydive City, Zephyrhills myself back in the late 80s early 90s, a group of us from the UK would travel at Easter time. 🪂

I thought that the MoPH had postponed, on 28 June 2025,  the enforcement of new cannabis regulations by 30–60 days, responding to public concern and allowing more time for adaptation. Under the upcoming rules, sellers will need official permits and must document every cannabis flower sale.

The market for Yaba, Ketamine, etc... is another market and uses other distributors (and was already florishing in Thailand before 2022). That's the advantage of legal weed. Shops selling weed won't propose anything else, unlike illegal weed dealers.

No the smell is on many streets & tourist locations all over the country, the cannabis shops in tourist areas are also a hotspot for the stench!!

Skydive city opened in 90 I think if not mistaken? Phoenix was a true boogie skydive center with good old DC3, while Skydive City became the more team training facility and competed with Deland. 

 

Anyway good memories. Did you meet Olaf? He just lost his leg now while living in Thailand

Jake Brake packed my reserve after a cutaway, I met Jerry Bird, was a real character! Didn't meet Olaf, thinking about it now, you're right about Skydive City opening in 90, unfortunately my memory is getting a bit a dodgy!

Jerry Bird is still alive is a miracle considering his lifestyle with beer every day, smoking pot and a bit of the Colombian dust. Betty died at 66 a few years back, and I cant think of a more sweet lady if you remember her. 

Problems with this article seem to be that cannabis has not so far been reclassified as a narcotic and that the new ministerial regulations are nothing to do with repositioning the moribund Thai tourism industry.  It is purely to do with Thaksin's spiteful revenge on Anutin for leaving his coalition, which did not represent the government that Thais voted for anyway.  The Thaksin government had plenty of time to introduce cannabis regulations before Anutin left the coalition for repositioning tourism or protection of minors or whatever reason.  Thaksin controlled the health ministry but did nothing.  So this is all BS.
