That was the opinion of a well-known medical insurance provider in Thailand (big ocean). I was looking around to alternatives to my current policy - I wanted a direct payment to the hospital company, rather than me paying upfront and then claining it back. My current insurer covers me for prostate cancer, but not for my mild BPH - of course, there is no link between BPH and prostate cancer. Sadly, the medical underwriters of this Thai company seem to think that my BPH is a 'serious pre-existing' condition and will not cover me for prostate cancer.... I will purchase and donate some medical textbooks to them, as they seem somewhat lacking in medical knowledge lol!
