A violent hotel clash between two foreign tourists in Patong has left police on the hunt for a French national, following a heated altercation with an Australian visitor yesterday morning.

At 9:35 am, Patong Police rushed to Nanai Road after hotel staff reported a violent confrontation between two guests. Upon arrival, authorities, along with rescue workers from the Kusontham Phuket Foundation, found Australian tourist Brett William John Amery with a 5-centimetre head wound and bleeding on the hotel floor.

Witnesses recounted seeing a physical fight between the pair, after which the French tourist made a swift exit on a black Yamaha Nmax motorbike, bearing Phuket licence plate 1 Kor 6178. The police are now actively searching for the Frenchman who promptly fled the scene.

Rescue workers provided immediate medical assistance to Amery before his transfer to Patong Hospital. Though admitted, Amery chose not to continue with further medical treatment after receiving initial care.

Investigations are ongoing as the Patong Police work to unravel the cause of the scuffle. They have summoned Amery for a formal statement, and as of this morning, there's no word on the French tourist’s whereabouts, as reported by The Phuket News.

In other related news, Patong Police await a medical report to press charges in another instance involving foreign tourists who engaged in a violent spat with a local motorcycle rental operator. This incident on August 10 involved six individuals from Arab backgrounds and caught widespread attention, reported The Thaiger.

The suspects were reportedly apprehended by August 14, after a video of the attack was shown to Nirat Phongsitthaworn, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration. The Kathu District Chief was promptly directed to investigate the matter.

However, the identity and current status of the arrested individuals remain undisclosed. Despite an announcement on August 18 by the Kathu District Office regarding their deportation process, Patong Police have yet to lay formal charges.

Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns about visitor conduct in Patong, raising questions about security measures and the management of tourist disputes in the bustling area. As investigations proceed, the focus remains on ensuring justice and maintaining safety for all involved.

The "arrested individuals" are probably waiting for a wire transfer to drop so they can pay-off the cops and the whole story vanishes like it never happened.

Ban everyone who make problems.. specially Arabs!

Oh boy. I can't wait for the pundits to pounce on the fleeing aspect. 😄

The Australian fellow sprawled out on the floor, is  somewhat curious. All the Australians I have ever encountered would not collapse like a child waiting for attention.  Australians suffer far more serious  injuries playing sports or crushing beer cans on their heads and don't collapse onto the floor because some frenchman gave them a small laceration. The man didn't need medical assistance, so the injury could not have been that serious. The man purse suggests someone was being a bit over dramatic.

Land a sucker punch or a lucky punch that 'shakes the brain'........and it doesn't matter how hard you are.....you're out like a light.

All over the last breakfast croissant 🙄

Lots of stereotyping going on here.

All the Australians I have met are good non-alcohol-drinking people I could expect to meet anywhere in the world.

As far as the French are concerned I wouldn't care to be on the wrong side of them. They can be as aggressive as anyone else.

The French can be as hard as anyone else. This stuff all started when they wouldn't let the Yanks fly over France to bomb Libya. Have a [real] look at how hard they fought in 1940  .They were led by  imbeciles, but if they hadn't fought so hard half the poms would still be in Dunkirk. Have a look at Verdun in WW1 .BTW I am no Francophile but I just like the truth not the rhetoric.

So he was still out cold on the floor and they took a photo at the scene, surely for these photos at least show someone attending to his condition or at least looking like they give a s***

Nonsense.  This English v. France animosity goes back centuries, even a millenia.  Long before the USA even existed.

And if you ask most Americans about Reagan's bombing of Libya, they'd say "Huh?"

Not that I disagree with you about the French capable of fighting...

When we stormed the beaches on D Day to liberate their country there wasn't a Frenchman to be seen.

What's the bet it turns out to be a rag head that sailed into France on a rubber boat, sounds like what those animals would do probably hit the Ozzie in the head with something and ran like a bitch back to his friends also on the same. Boat

Exactly, the cops never want justices, they just work for brown envelopes only
