Ukrainian sniper breaks world record against Russian forces

A Ukrainian sniper unit has broken the world record for the longest confirmed sniper hit, taking out Russian troops from more than 13,000 feet away.

The Kyiv Post reported Ukrainian forces used a 14.5 mm Alligator rifle to eliminate two Russian soldiers near Pokrovsk, Ukraine. The record-setting hit was carried out “using artificial intelligence under the guidance of [an unmanned aerial vehicle] complex with a 14.5 mm alligator rifle,” claimed military journalist Yuri Butusov.

The strike occurred amid intensified Russian assaults around Pokrovsk — once a city of more than 60,000 people. The outlet noted that the previous record was held by a 58-year-old Ukrainian. The sniper reportedly hit a target from roughly 12,400 feet.
