The world of fashion mourns the passing of iconic designer Giorgio Armani, who died at age 91. Armani's influence is undeniable, from revolutionising modern fashion to fostering a global brand empire. His legacy spans clothing, beauty, hotels, and more, generating over 2,8 billion US$ (91 billion Thai baht) annually.

Celebrities and designers paid homage to Armani's enduring impact. Donatella Versace lauded him as a historical giant, while Julia Roberts called him a "true friend" and posted on Instagram. Actor Russell Crowe shared his gratitude, celebrating Armani's presence during significant life events.

Armani's brand honoured his unwavering dedication until his last moments, highlighting his curiosity and attention to others. Known for red carpet elegance, he dressed stars like Zendaya and Cate Blanchett and designed for films such as American Gigolo and The Wolf of Wall Street.

A trailblazer, Armani was the first to ban underweight models after model Ana Carolina Reston's tragic passing in 2006. British designer Paul Smith praised Armani for his independence and inspiration, while Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni acknowledged his creative influence on Italian fashion.

Despite health challenges, Armani remained active in fashion, with his March 2025 show addressing global politics. Concerns emerged in June when he missed Milan fashion week, directing a Paris show remotely in July, reported the BBC.

Starting in medicine, Armani founded his label in 1975 with Sergio Galeotti and navigated controversies, including a 2014 tax settlement. An avid sports fan, he supported Inter Milan and owned the Olimpia Milano basketball team, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc expressing admiration for working with him.

Armani received the French Legion of Honour and the Italian Order of Merit for Labour, cementing his status in fashion history. His influence persists, shaping fashion's past, present, and future.

I don't want to turn this into a political thread, but why are so many people envious of Trump being incredibly rich and successful, but admire billionaire fashion designers?

It's all chemicals.

And people need to be gravitating towards chemical-free perfumes.

I preferred Canali.

Armani wasn't bad, just too commercial for my taste.

In fact I use 3 to 1 mix of these 2. A perfect scent by men's and women's.

As far as I'm concerned Armani clothing was the best. He was my favourite designer as his clothes made me feel and look good. Rest In Peace sir.

Trump became rich through lying, grifting, tax fraud, profiting from a fake university and a fake charity.........just to name a few.

Whereas Armani didn't. Not hard to understand really!

When you get to Thailand, you realize the fashion industry is a hoax.

You can get laid in flip flops.

I'm in a real tiz now!
