ENGLISH TV PROGRAMS FOR PHUKET, PHANG NGA AND KRABI

Channel 11 or Television of Thailand, Phuket, has been broadcasting since March 1st a program called "Andaman News" in English at 8.30-9.00 am on Mondays to Fridays with local news, reports and interviews (INCLUDING AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PHANG NGA GOVERNOR ON FRIDAY 23 JULY).

You can tune in on the local VHF channel dial in Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi, not through cable TV at present. You can also now listen to the audio on Radio Thailand FM96.75 in Phuket, at the same time. We would like to ask any hotels or guesthouses in Krabi or Phang Nga to check if they can receive the programs and if they would like to broadcast them in their guest rooms or public areas?

The producers also welcome news of interesting stories, personalities to interview, and upcoming events to mention or feature, press releases, videos (in miniDV format), etc..

Another new weekly program “Along the Coast” at 8.00-8.30am, starting soon, will also feature nice places to visit and products to try from around the Andaman coast region, so recommendations from hotels, tourism operators, producers, tourists and viewers are most welcome.

The English programs are a good way for foreigners to better understand the local Thai news and lifestyle, and for Thais to learn more English in a relevant and topical form.

If you would like to advertise on or sponsor a program, appear as an interviewee, or want to send news/PR or just need more information, please email only, to [email protected] (in English) or [email protected] (in Thai). For urgent news or communication only, please phone mobile 09-1739808, 09-7231984 (in Thai) or 076 211555 or fax 076 211556.

The interview with the Phang Nga Governor has been rescheduled for Tuesday 27 July as there is no "Andaman News" on Friday 23 July due to an important live relay from Bangkok.

Please note our program & interview with the Governor has been delayed again, until Wednesday, due to a live broadcast from USA, via Bangkok!
