The powers that be set it up that way. Prior, a man could raise a family on one income, but that changed at some point. They basically forced most women into the workforce, although most women are arguably benefiting from it. Maybe most want to work anyway, but almost impossible to raise a family on one income unless you make 250K.
September 29, 2025Sep 29 @fredwiggy Americans are notorious for their lack of geographical knowledge. They can tell you every state in the Union, but most could not even pinpoint Iraq on a map during the Gulf wars. Personally I've had some eye opening personal conversations that confirmed that view. Of course it's a stereotype. A generalisation. But there must be a reason for that stereotype to exist.

I've asked people directions in the US, Thailand, Mexico and other places and some couldn't tell you where a street was in the neighborhood they've lived all their lives. Many students everywhere can't tell you much about the world outside their own areas, unless they like geography.

My brother and his wife made over 150K a year in New Jersey and they were getting by and a tad more. This is the reason so many thousands moved from California and the east coast to Texas, where houses are half the price. When you have kids, most need both parents to work with few exceptions.

I've asked people directions here quite a few times, for places that were a kilo or two away, showing them pictures and an address, and they couldn't tell me where they were, and they lived in that area. Some people are just not aware.

September 29, 2025Sep 29 @fredwiggy Lack of geographical knowledge has nothing to do with giving directions. What are you thinking?

One was knowing geographical knowledge, meaning they didn't know much about the world around them, and also it does pertain to not knowing where places were where they lived, which is also a lack of geographical knowledge. If you're into geography, you can tell others where places are in many places around the world, along with giving good directions to places close to where you are. Some, like myself, liked knowing where places were, the local customs, architects, food and music, so I learned about them. Some couldn't care less, so forget what they're taught in school because it doesn't interest them. I've met people who could tell you how to get to Florida from Oregon, and some that couldn't tell you where a store was in their own neighborhood. being clueless is a trait people have worldwide.

September 29, 2025Sep 29 @fredwiggy You are thinking...but don't have any evidence to back up your 'thinking'. Remember that Americans are told that their country is the 'best in the world'. We might expect that the people should actually know something about the rest of the world. Anyway...we've strayed off-topic, so let's leave it at that. Is yours an ex-bar girl?

America is a great country, all countries in the world in one place. . Almost everyone thinks their country is great, besides some here who hate where they came from. America has everything anyone on earth could want all in one place, which is what makes it great.

September 29, 2025Sep 29 @fredwiggy I didn't ask about your ex. I asked if yours is an ex-bar girl. Since the thread is about ex-bar girls. America is so great, that the people inside it knew almost nothing about the people outside of it. With regard to your thinking...you state that you only post facts and not opinions. So I expected that you might find a link to back up your statement. But since it's off-topic, we can also forget about it and return to discussing ex-bar girls.
September 29, 2025Sep 29 10 hours ago, fredwiggy said: Anyone working too much harms the marriage, and children involved. So maybe they should have reduced the working hours for men and let men spend more time at home. And reduced hours for women. So both men and women can participate in the workforce and take care of the marriage and the family? But cost of living needed to go down. That's not what they wanted though. Also, notice that wages were stagnant precisely because women flooded the workforce. So could be a "conspiracy" for companies to keep wages down.

Those videos show a fraction of the people living there, but they are amusing, seeing many don't know the basics about the world, but again, this would happen if you did them in the UK, Germany, Portugal, Africa or anywhere else. If you mean my girlfriend now, no, she worked for Cpac and now the government.
