Has anyone recently tried to get a multiple entry visa from the Royal Thai Consulate office in Denver lately? I received a message from a guy saying they are no longer issuing visas. Any info on that?

Update on Denver, Colorado "Christina Lee" <[email protected]>

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

We are trying to tell customers who are trying to obtain a visa, to go to their

nearest consulate within the state they reside in. We will accept travelers

who are within the state of Colorado or neighboring cities who do not have a

consulate in their area.

We are trying to make customers understand that we will not be issuing

visas as easily as we had in the past due to the changes that have taken

place since October 2006. We are trying to follow the rules the best we can

per the Thai Embassy.

We do not want customers misinformed that we can issue ANY TYPE of visa

easily if requested or we will take applications from those who

reside outside our area. We will try to ask the customer to provide as

much documentation as possible pertaining to the type of visa applied for.

I just recently went to the consulate and they indeed have stopped giving them out. They were telling everyone who had a village wedding with their Thai wife (including myself) to have it done legally with the paperwork in the city and bring the paperwork and copy of her i.d. back to them and they will issue a Non Immigrant Visa. Otherwise, no dice. :o

Bumping this thread due to recent activity.

The RTC in Denver issued one of our consultants (Colorado resident) with a 1-year Non-B in April 2010. They needed a letter from my company and to book the appointment in advance. Application filed and visa issued in 30 minutes, while he waited. This was a rush job! The key is calling ahead to make the appointment and if I recall, they don't accept LD calls, only local.

Anyone had more recent experience? I will be in Denver on business in October and plan on getting a new Non-B at that time. Note from the previous thread that they do limit visa to residents of CO and legit travelers.

I called and talked to the gal at the consulate in Denver a few days ago and no non-o for visiting friends. In Feb. only a single tourist visa unles I showed a tickets and travel plans in and out of Thailand for a double entry tourist visa. Not a user friendly consulate, stickler for the rules which is ok.

Houston was no problem for multi tourist visa but not a non-o.
