No. These sorts of Brits usually go to Bendidorm and Magaluf. Social media is now pushing them to Thailand. Then you have the council estate sorts who are being sent to Thailand to bring back marijuana. 

 

Go read up on how many are being caught in the UK coming from Thailand.

George from the UK is inundated about Sharia law and racist posts, then he sees lying influencers in Thailand saying you can live there for £1 a day, have a 5 star condo, and eat lobster and caviar - and get change from that £1 a day.

BTW, I heard Magaluf was his original holiday plan.

On topic, Norse also offer flights to MAN via Scandi airports. I think it's once a week and you need to book 5 or 6 weeks ahead as it looks busy already.

Doubt they will get more tourists the way the visa application is going. I applied for an O visa for 90 days, married to a Thai, with property both in Thailand and the UK. 

It was sent back not enough funds in the Bank. Although the cash flow in my account is many times more than the required £1000, the balance at the time of the screenshot was under the required amount.  Even though the numbers showed the cash flow. My Marriage certificate, original, Thai document, had some issues and one or two other things my good lady will sort out. Never had this before, always have given the same details for the last 20 years without a hitch. But now multiple problems. Will be using BA as they had some reasonable prices. As to Norse, you have to pay extra for baggage and seat allocation, so yes, cheap, but with a family, the price soon goes up. EVA and Thai have had some good prices for direct witch I now prefer from London. Though from Manchester Etihad and Gulf, and very good if you don't mind the stop. I just hate the ducking arrogance of the strip search in the Arab states. They stripped me to my pants every time they say get your clothes on They have women about FFS. The steel plate in my back set them off.

BA never really reopened. In Oct 2024 they started flying from Gawick for the winter only, think that will become all year round from next summer. Between covid and last Oct they were selling tickets to BKK but with Cathay via HK or Qatar via Doha.

"better experience"!!!I used BA for several years and gave up because of bad experience. Took them to court twice, first time in 2015 they settled out of court and the second was abandoned due to covid.

Since covid I have used Emirates but getting too old for the connection so direct flights are having more appeal. If all year comes about, may have to bite the bullet.

Norse use to fly West to the US with these planes. The Europe/US tourist market crashed due to the uncertainty created by the Trump era, so Norse switched to flying East.

long haul flight for a long stay without checked luggage is a bit rare.  I travel with just a carry on, even for long stays overseas in Thailand, but I do not think that is the norm for most travelers, certainly not family or couples that are traveling for a long holiday, plan to go out at night and not just hang at the beach areas in just a bathing suit and a pair of shorts and t shirts

Perfect for snowbirding though. Those with a home in (say) the UK and another in Thailand won't need much more than hand carry on their migratory flights. Most of the full-service European carriers already offer the cheapest fares with no checked baggage.

 

Backpackers can stick with Scoot, thanks.

Going back and forth for work, I did not carry much, but still had a small bag or suit case with me checked in. Another thing going back and forth for work, you do not want to go with an airline who most likely will make you stuck for a day for few days if some problems occurs, you want an airline you can jump on another flight a few hours delayed only. 

If i was Uk authorities i would be doing some extra checks on luggage on these flights. 

My friend says this is a budget, no-frills airline. No IFE, food extra, 10kg baggage only or pay extra. So, it will not be attracting the quality tourist Thailand craves
