A man from Saraburi province, named Joe, has been accused of knowingly spreading HIV within the LGBTQIA+ community and trading sex for drugs. The allegations were brought forward by a complainant, referred to as A, who reported the matter on November 16. A expressed a desire for Joe to face legal repercussions while issuing a warning to the LGBTQIA+ community in Saraburi and Khon Kaen.

A disclosed that his brother, once in a relationship with Joe, discovered Joe's HIV-positive status after finding hidden medication. Joe admitted he hadn't revealed his condition because he wasn't directly questioned about it. Following a health check in September, A’s brother also tested positive for HIV, leading to the end of their relationship and threats from Joe if the information was shared.

Joe allegedly contracted HIV in Khon Kaen province, engaging in risky sexual behavior fueled by drug use, specifically crystal meth. His activities reportedly included unprotected group sex and frequent use of dating apps to meet partners, exchanging sexual favors for drugs. He was also claimed to partake in voyeuristic activities in public restrooms.

Further accusations suggest Joe had numerous sexual partners across Saraburi, Khon Kaen, Chon Buri, and Bangkok. He purportedly sold used underwear online and offered sexual services, making the situation more concerning. Despite these serious charges, local police and officials have yet to comment on any ongoing investigations.

A is seeking justice for his brother and aims to alert others in the community about the potential dangers posed by Joe’s actions. There’s a demand for Joe to be legally accountable for his alleged intentional spread of HIV.

Looking ahead, authorities are expected to address the allegations, although official responses remain absent. The situation highlights ongoing public health concerns about awareness and responsibility within the LGBTQIA+ community regarding HIV transmission, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • A man named Joe is accused of intentionally spreading HIV in Saraburi.

And what of the innocent people who are infected?

Many times, men who succumb to their  sexual desires, can be married or cohabitating with someone else, unaware that the man is engaging in  high risk behavior. Is it fair to the women who become infected? How about the young people who make mistakes? Should they  suffer too?

Troll post removed.

25 years ago I read that the UK was considering criminalizing HIV non-disclosure, they decided against it because it was stigmatizing HIV +ve people and would discourage people from seeking HIV testing.

It's now known that people on medication with undetectable HIV loads are incapable of spreading HIV unless they miss doses or are co-infected with something else.

This guy apparently was on medication so he probably contracted HIV during his relationship and spread it before the meds took effect.

Well, how difficult is it to use protection when you have sex with someone? That way you won’t catch anything!

Joe had a relationship with A's Brother .

A's Brother reported Joe to the Police

This is a time when they should really put the face out there so people know who it is and if they should be checked or stay away if he’s out and about again.

Without judging his actions just a remark. He is accused to have spread HIV, no one can actually  be sure if he really has infected others or if the others were infected by other sexual partners. And yes, medication means usually undetectable and this means not transmissible. Of course the spread before medication is a possibility as well. And his behavior is of course reckless.
