Farage's £25B Cut Plan Targets Aid, Migrant Fees to Avoid Taxes

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage will unveil a £25 billion spending cut package on November 18, 2025, urging Chancellor Rachel Reeves to plug the UK's fiscal "black hole" without tax hikes, by slashing foreign aid and curbing migrant benefits. Speaking ahead of the November 26 Budget, Farage and policy head Zia Yusuf argue the plan prioritizes British citizens over "unfair" payments to foreigners, potentially saving £25 billion annually.

Core proposals include capping foreign aid at £1 billion—a 90% reduction from £13.6 billion in 2025/26—yielding £10 billion in savings by ending most bilateral programs while retaining UN and World Bank commitments. Yusuf highlighted "egregiously wasteful" projects like a £52 million Guyana "road to nowhere" and £100 million Pakistan family planning. The immigration health surcharge would triple to £2,718—matching average NHS costs—raising £5 billion and applying to Indefinite Leave to Remain applicants.

Further measures: End Universal Credit for foreign nationals (including EU settled status holders, with three months' notice and Brexit renegotiation), saving £6 billion; deport 10,000 foreign criminals (£580 million); and reform disability payments (£3.5 billion). Farage called aid an "unaffordable luxury," insisting: "Foreign nationals must bear the brunt."

Labour dismissed it as "fantasy numbers" risking trade retaliation, while X users praised the "British first" stance but urged total aid elimination. Reeves, post her income tax U-turn, eyes threshold freezes amid OBR warnings of a £25 billion shortfall.

Key Takeaways (3 points):

  • Slash foreign aid 90% to £1B, saving £10B by ending bilateral programs amid "wasteful" projects.
  • Triple migrant NHS surcharge to £2,718 (£5B revenue); end UC for foreigners (£6B savings).
  • Deport foreign criminals (£580M); reform disability benefits (£3.5B); Labour calls it unfeasible.

Why give any foreign aid?

I'd also suggest scrapping all the armed forces.

While I don't want to give foreign countries money, I'd prefer not to deliberately kill their citizens.

We need a strong Navy to push back or if necessary sink those effing boats illegally entering our territory

We both know they will never allow that use of the navy so better just to scrap it.

Great policy from Farage. Sure to be a winner. Foreign aid is a massive scam and the public knows it.
