Death of 38-Year-Old Man in Nonthaburi After Failed Reconciliation with Ex-Girlfriend
A 38-year-old man took his own life after a failed attempt to reconcile with his ex- girlfriend. Authorities were called to a home in Bang Rak Noi, Nonthaburi, at around 11:00 on November 25 after receiving reports of a man who had shot himself. The police, accompanied by forensic experts, rushed to the scene to investigate. At the residence, a two-story house, officers discovered the body of Phornsak (Ton), a 38-year-old employee with the Chao Phraya Express Boat company, slumped in a rocking chair on the second floor. He was shirtless, wearing only a towel. A gunshot wound to his right temple had claimed his life, and a Smith & Wesson.38 caliber handgun was found nearby. Phornsak's mother was the first to discover the scene. She reported hearing a gunshot earlier in the day and rushed upstairs to find her son with the weapon in his hand. After removing the gun, she contacted the police. It was later revealed that the gun had been locked away by the victim's father but was taken by Phornsak after he forcibly broke the lock. Family members expressed shock at the incident. Phornsak's uncle, Jarat, described how the victim had been in good spirits earlier that morning, as usual. After a normal interaction with his niece, Phornsak went upstairs, and soon after, a gunshot rang out. His mother's screams alerted the family to the tragedy. Friends of Phornsak shed light on his emotional state in the days leading up to the incident. Anusorn, a close friend and colleague, revealed that Phornsak had been struggling with depression after a breakup with a girlfriend whom he had tried to reconcile with. His emotional distress was apparent in the weeks prior, though he had kept his struggles to himself. Phornsak's father, Jamnong, shared his heartbreak with the press, revealing that he had securely locked the gun away, never expecting his son would resort to such an act. He explained that Phornsak had become withdrawn in recent months, particularly after the breakup with his ex-girlfriend, whom he had tried in vain to win back. The incident is still under investigation, and authorities are working to understand more about the emotional pressures Phornsak faced in his final days. A final post on his Facebook page, featuring a tattoo of a dragonfly and a song called "The Law of the Loser," further hinted at his feelings of heartbreak.
