Do you live in Thailand? Is your income denominated in sterling?

Keep an eye on the exchange rate and UK inflation. You may find the former decrease and the latter increase. That can seriously impact your purchasing power in Thailand. I am aware the triple lock keeps the state pension ahead of inflation but the state pension alone is not enough to live on here.

I live in Thailand, no inflation here.

My pensions are taxed in the UK, but I have more than I need.

The UK state pension is more than I ever anticipated, I think it's quite generous.

Pound went up after the budget.

Watch the exchange rate and UK inflation. If they worsen, your equivalent income in Baht would decrease.

Also if you have taxable non-savings income in the UK, you will pay a higher rate of income tax from next April, an extra 2%.

Yeah, all those illegal boat people you constantly bleat on about buying up all the London property and driving house prices up.

Pesky filthy rich illegal immigrants.

Well a lot are still in hotels.

Others are being housed at the governments expense.

Hence all the tax rises on working people to pay for it.

Aha hah ah ah ha ha ha ha ha, oh please.

So you call Rachel a liar, but you respect one of the biggest liars out there! And a sycophant to boot.

So know we know Jonny's "type": Subservient, sycophantic, untruthful, and blonde (I assume).

Leavitt is a highly educated, career focused, strong, intelligent, beautiful woman who came from humble beginnings to a major role at the age of only 28.

But if you prefer Rachel from accounts, the liar with the fake CV, a deep booming voice and a striking resemblance to Richard III then knock yourself out. 😄

Leavitt is "highly educated"?  She got a softball scholarship for a small private university in New Hampshire!

Right, so you're judging them on looks - says it all.

Rachel Reeves studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford. She then got a Masters Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. Rose through the ranks - on merit - and is the UK's first ever female CoE. For someone who says they like "strong independent women" then there's one for you. Her parents were primary school teachers.

Leavett got a softball scholarship at St Anselm College. Whoop. She was appointed to her position because she is highly sycophantic, gushes praise for her master, lies on his behalf, will say and do anything to please him - without embarrassment or shame. But she is blonde and pretty.

You demean Reeves and her achievements but praise Leavett. It really says everything we need to know about you.

Misogynistic in the extreme unless they are extremely right wing, blond and pretty.

Leavitt has a degree in Politics and Communication. Rose to her position at 28 through competence and hard work.

Reeves lied on her CV to get the role and has wrecked the British economy. She lied about not raising taxes before raising them by 40 billion and 26 billion respectively in the last 2 budgets. She breaks down in tears during Parliament when called out on her lies and incompetence. She is commonly known in Britain as Rachel Thieves.

Leavitt is also a far better public speaker and WAY hotter. I understand your hatred of beautiful successful women may be clouding your judgement though.

Last time I looked the economy hadn't been wrecked.

The only thing I agree with you on is Leavitt is a better public speaker and is hotter. But she is just a lying, sycophantic mouthpiece, nothing more nothing less.

Thanks for the replies to my post earlier, about the Reeves budget.

As for reactions, 5 in total - all thumbs down - which is fine.

I wonder if any of the 5 posters can either contest the facts or defend the cotinuance of Govt. borrowing of £100,000,000,000 p.a. for the next 2 years.

Total Govt debt now hovering around £3 trillion soon - do the sums.

Just the 100 billion p.a. amounts to £1,500 per man woman and child, £6,000 per family of 4 and £3,000 per person in full employment.  That's what the Budget PLANS to add to Govt debt, in just one year.

Understand the facts, don't shoot the Messenger . . . . ATB

Interesting on YouTube to hear Dr. David Starkey talk about her.

And David Lammy!

Yeah I saw one interview with Starky when he said watching Lammy in Parliament was the first time he felt embarrassed (or was it ashamed?) to be British.

I feel his pain.

I realize some simpish, insecure men prefer the latter though.

That retort's just cherry-picking "strong" women who fit your bias while slapping "fragile liar" on Reeves for one human moment in a brutal PMQs grill. Leavitt's no saint either: dodging Epstein questions, dodging a non aligned press, flip-flopping on Project 2025, and her nephew's mom's ICE arrest hitting headlines last week—ironic for a Trump press sec.

Simpish jabs? That's insecure deflection. If strength means policy smarts over gendered snark, debate Reeves' budget moves rather than misogynist name calling.

Losing all credibility with your sexist and misogynistic commentary when it all comes down to what your bell end thinks.

Yes because noticing that a woman is attractive is definitely sexist and misogynistic. 😄

Is it misandry when you comment on the boys at Dongtan beach?

Reeves literally burst into tears during Parliament.

She's weak.  She's incompetent. She is dishonest.

Reeves lied all over her CV, told everyone she was an economist at HBOS but worked in complaints.

Then she stated on several occasions she spent a decade at the B of E where it was in fact half that time. Was she lying again or simply just cant count, neither a good quality for the top finance job in government.
