November 29, 2025Nov 29 Popular Post Many would say yes to that question as he seems to have a propensity for pardoning a group of criminals, misfits and mafia types, who have committed major crimes and been convicted. So the real question is, for a man who represents himself to be a law and order president, does he really have any respect for the law? Prosecutors had accused former president Hernández of conspiring with drug cartels during his tenure as they moved more than 400 tons of cocaine through Honduras toward the United States. In exchange, prosecutors said, Hernández received millions of dollars in bribes that he used to fuel his rise in Honduran politics. During his years in office, the Justice Department said, Hernández “protected and enriched the drug traffickers in his inner circle.” Prosecutors cited his use of executive power to support extraditions to the US of certain drug traffickers “who threatened his grip on power,” while “promising drug traffickers who paid him and followed his instructions that they would remain in Honduras.” https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/28/politics/trump-honduran-president-juan-orlando-hernandez-pardon?cid=android_app In his second term, the break from the formal process has only widened: Only 10 of the roughly 1,600 people granted pardons had filed petitions to the Office of the Pardon Attorney, and even within that small group, some did not appear to meet the Justice Department’s standards and requirements. A huge chunk of the pardons, roughly 1,500, were people convicted for their roles in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol. The rest have come largely through back channels. In some of the more striking cases, Trump’s pardons erased not only criminal convictions for defendants tied to large-scale corruption and financial crimes but the restitution judges had ordered or that defendants had agreed to pay. https://share.google/kWWShwDkYsVrrd74d

He could pardon his family for a 10-year window, similar to Biden's approach.
November 29, 2025Nov 29 The President of the United States has the constitutional authority to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment, as stated in Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution. This pardon power is considered "plenary" and "unlimited" by the Supreme Court, extending to all federal criminal offenses and allowing the President to issue pardons, commutations of sentences, remissions of fines or forfeitures, reprieves, and amnesty for groups or classes of individuals. The power can be exercised at any time after the commission of a crime, including before legal proceedings, during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment.

November 29, 2025Nov 29 Popular Post Many speculations about money for pardon. And it certainly looks that way. Also many of his pardons are purely partisan. So yes to the question posed.

I assume you believe your post is important to me. You are not in a position to discuss any political topic, assumed or not assumed. The fact remains that the power to grant pardons is reserved for the President of the United States.

So yes to the question posed. Since Trump is a purely transactional president and individual, it does make sense that he would be selling pardons for undisclosed sums. He's likely the most corrupt president in the history of the nation.
