Humphrey Bear
I prefer Aramex to either UPS, FedEx or DHL - they are as efficient as any of the big three and half the price. Meg_2003
Does anyone know where I can find the UPS postal rates? Or have a website address for their Thailand branch? I normally send via EMS , Is UPS cheaper???
uwe_rayong
Hi, I think it depends on the weight of the package, if you send something around 20kg UPS is cheaper. UPS Thailand:http://wwwapps.ups.com/calTimeCost?loc=en_...p;WT.svl=SubNav Post Thailand:http://www.thailandpost.co.th/search_ems_en.asp Aramex:http://www.aramex.com/express/rate_and_time.aspx I couldn´t find the rate for aramex in the online calculator, error in the zip code. UPS charges around 5400 Thb. for a standard 25kg Box. If Aramex is really 50% cheaper, that would be a very competitive price.
Humphrey Bear
I use Aramex mainly for express documents. From Saudi to UK or Japan they charge 75 SAR; DHL charge 199 SAR. (Conversion to Thai Baht about 1:9) Edited August 17, 2007 by Humphrey Bear
TheAceFace
Did not think the rates would be that high, shocked. Makes you wonder how people selling in Thailand from ebay are making profits? surely there are cheaper ways to send parcels?

Meg_2003
Ive sent parcels quite alot before back to my family and Friends.. Below 2KG I use registered airmail which starts at around 35 baht for an envelope (The post office fee is 55 baht per item, though!), up to about 1,400 baht if its around 2KG.> Any more than 2KG I use EMS which is always around 800 for lightweight packages, or 1600 for packages around 2KG. Ive never sent anything any heavier than that so thats all I know.. You can see postage rates for both registered and EMS here: http://www.thailandpost.com/search_ems_en.asp Registered mail takes around 2 weeks, but doesn't have online tracking. EMS takes around 5-7 days with online tracking..
TheAceFace
I need a cheap service, as my packages could be 10kg +. With these prices I will never see a profit.
glenbat
Are these parcels likely to be opened up in the UK and checked, or do they normally come straight through?
basinboy
My wife buys fashion and accessories in Thailand (mainly Chiang Mai) we us SAL (second class air mail). To Melbourne. You take your stuff to the post Office they sell the cardboard boxes and usually help you pack them. Recently we sent 110kg (6 boxes) the price was about 19000baht, this actually worked out at 18% of the cost of the goods bought, we allow 20% in our costings. The official delivery time is 2-3 weeks, but they usually arrive after 1 week. I wish we could do the same from Cambodia, it seems to be couriers or sea freight only from there.
