Megan Markle fathers desperate plea from Hospital ICU bed

Thomas Markle has issued a raw, heartbreaking appeal to his estranged daughter, Meghan, urging the Duchess of Sussex to see him “one more time before I die” as he recovers from a life-or-death leg amputation in a Philippine hospital.

Markle, 81, spoke from his intensive care bed in Cebu, where surgeons removed his left leg below the knee after a massive blood clot cut off circulation, leaving the limb infected and turning blue-black. Doctors told the Mail on Sunday the procedure was “life or death,” adding that if the infection had reached his heart, “it would most likely have been fatal.”

Despite widespread reports claiming Meghan had reached out following his sudden health crisis, Markle said no such contact ever came. He said he purposely kept the same phone number after their 2018 rift “so she could always get in touch,” but insists he received nothing from her.

Hospital staff — from administration to ICU — confirmed, with Markle’s permission, that no call or message had been logged from Meghan or anyone representing her. A senior source said staff were “confused” when media reports suggested otherwise: “If the duchess had called, we would have known.”

A spokesperson for the Sussexes later claimed Meghan sent an email on Friday — but the address used is one Markle reportedly abandoned five years ago, and close friends say he has not used email in years.

The estrangement has lasted since the lead-up to Meghan’s 2018 wedding, when Markle staged paparazzi photos in a misguided attempt to improve his image. He suffered two heart attacks shortly after and was unable to walk her down the aisle; then-Prince Charles stepped in, a gesture Markle has previously described as “incredibly kind.”

Speaking from his hospital bed, Markle said he dreams not only of seeing Meghan, but also of meeting Prince Harry and grandchildren Archie and Lilibet “before it’s too late.” He added: “I’ve always said I am open to reconciling. I have never stopped loving her.”

The former Hollywood lighting director has spent the year living quietly in Cebu with his son Tom Jr, hoping to escape media attention. It was Tom Jr and Markle’s elder daughter Samantha who first learned of the amputation — after a mutual friend received a blunt 6:30am text from Markle reading: “Going to lose the leg today.”

Doctors say he is stable and should be moved to a regular ward soon, though “not out of the woods.” Appearing frail but alert in a hospital-bed photograph, Markle thanked supporters worldwide: “Particularly the ones from Britain. I am very grateful.”

For now, his message to Meghan remains painfully simple: he does not want to die estranged, and he fears time is running out.

  • A dying father begs for mercy — but the Duchess remains silent, with hospital staff confirming they received zero contact from Meghan or her team despite global reports claiming otherwise.

  • Markle’s “life-or-death” amputation exposes a cold family freeze, as he pleads publicly to see Meghan, Harry, and the grandchildren he’s never met — while she promotes a Netflix special about “family love.”

  • Confusion, heartbreak, and a five-year-old dead email address, as Meghan’s camp insists she “reached out,” but the ailing 81-year-old says he never heard a word and doesn’t even use email — leaving the estrangement painfully intact.
