A construction worker was killed and four others injured after scaffolding collapsed at a building site inside the Bang Pu Industrial Estate, Soi 4B, in Mueang district, Samut Prakan. The incident occurred at around 10:00 on 7 December when the structure gave way, sending all five workers plummeting to the ground. Emergency responders arrived quickly and began assisting the injured before transporting them to hospital.

Initial reports confirmed that one worker died at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. Another worker sustained critical injuries, while one was moderately hurt and two suffered minor injuries. Police from Bang Pu Police Station cordoned off the site as they begin a formal investigation into the incident.

Rescue teams worked to stabilise the injured workers and transport them to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment. Officials are also assessing whether safety measures at the construction site complied with regulatory standards. Investigators are interviewing workers and supervisors in order to determine how the scaffolding failed.

Authorities said the priority is ensuring the safety of other workers in the area and preventing further structural hazards. Police are expected to review construction plans, maintenance records and site operations as part of their inquiry. Additional inspections may be ordered if any signs of negligence or improper installation are found.

The case has prompted renewed attention to workplace safety at industrial sites in Samut Prakan, where rapid development has increased construction activity. Officials said they will coordinate with labour and industrial agencies to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
