An attack on four Thai men by a group of Cambodian men at a karaoke bar in Mokpo Daebul, South Korea, has prompted the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul to warn its citizens. The embassy advises avoiding areas with large Cambodian communities. The assault involved around 15–20 Cambodian men questioning the victims' nationality before attacking them, injuring two Thai men with beer bottles.

The incident comes amid existing tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, particularly concerning recent border clashes. The attack occurred when the Cambodian group entered the karaoke venue and launched the assault after identifying the Thai men.

In response, the Thai Embassy used social media to caution Thai nationals in South Korea, recommending heightened vigilance and avoiding areas with concentrated Cambodian populations, especially at night. Thai nationals are urged to remain cautious and steer clear of potential conflicts.

The victims of the attack, holding E-7 employment visas used by foreign skilled workers in South Korea, have lodged a complaint with local authorities. This type of visa is typically issued to individuals in specialized roles such as IT and engineering, highlighting concerns among professionals working in the region.

The embassy's warning is part of continued efforts to protect Thai citizens abroad amid tensions. It underscores potential risks associated with international relations and cultural communities' interactions, reported The Nation.
