The key word there is "if."  

If the marriage allegations proves true.
If the marriage allegations prove false, a number of people and organizations may end up facing defamation suits - including Cruz.

Looks like this may work out like the "they're eating the cats" gambit.  Trump was never able to prove the Haitians were actually eating cats (even though that is a Haitian culture thing and I'm sure they did).  But he was able to kick start a discussion of the negative effects of dumping a huge number of foreigners into a community.  Had he started with that, he wouldn't have gotten any traction.  But for weeks, people were discussing the Biden border tragedy and how it's decimating middle America, all in an effort to prove Trump was wrong.

 

Now, Trump started with "she married her brother" and the discussion is going toward "graft and corruption".  Had he started with "graft and corruption" and "unexplained wealth", nobody would care because Dems are infamous for that.  It's business as usual, in the DNC bylaws.

 

The guy's a political genius.

 

Here is a photo of Ilhan, Ahmed Hirsi (her on again, off again 'husband' in the 'unofficial Islamic faith tradition') and Elmi, who she married in 2009, divorced 'in the Islamic faith tradition' in 2011, and legally divorced in 2017. Meanwhile, she legally married Hirsi in 2018, after having three children. Divorced HIM in 2019, then married the white guy 4 months later.

 

Any photos you see of Elmi and the dude DOES look to be a bit "light in the loafers", a huge problem for a man from Somalia. So getting him married to a woman who could act as a "beard" would quite possibly save his life.
