December 16, 2025Dec 16 Flights between Phnom Penh, Bangkok and Siem Reap are continuing as normal despite the sharp escalation in fighting along the Cambodian–Thai border, officials in Phnom Penh confirmed on Saturday. The reassurance comes as travellers grow increasingly anxious about the impact of the clashes on regional transport links. Sin Chansereyvutha, Secretary of State and spokesperson for the Secretariat of Civil Aviation, said both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports were operating without disruption as of the afternoon of 13 December. He stressed that flight schedules had not been altered and that authorities were monitoring the situation closely. The routes linking Cambodia and Thailand remain some of the busiest in the region. According to the ministry, there are 63 weekly flights between Bangkok and Siem Reap alone, including services to Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and Phuket. Phnom Penh is even more connected, with 77 weekly flights to Bangkok, operated by five Thai carriers and two Cambodian airlines. While commercial aviation continues uninterrupted, one restriction remains in place: the section of Cambodian airspace closed during the first border clash in July has not yet reopened. Officials say it will stay shut until conditions are deemed safe. For now, the Secretariat of Civil Aviation insists that travel between the two countries remains stable, promising to update the public immediately should the situation change. -2025-12-16 ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français ThaiVisa, it's also in French
