Dissatisfaction Rises with Bhumjaithai-Led Government, Says Poll

A recent survey by the King Prajadhipok Institute in Thailand shows growing dissatisfaction with the Bhumjaithai-led coalition government under Caretaker Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The poll, released on December 26, found 42% of respondents somewhat dissatisfied and 24% totally dissatisfied with the government's performance. In contrast, only 25% reported some satisfaction, and a mere 3% were very satisfied.

The catastrophic event claimed over 230,000 lives and displaced more than 1.7 million people across countries including Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. In Thailand, six provinces along the Andaman coast were severely affected, resulting in over 5,395 deaths, affecting locals and tourists alike.

Thai military authorities confirmed on 26 December 2025 that three Thai soldiers were killed during clashes near the Thai–Cambodian border after BM-21 multiple rocket launchers were fired into a civilian area in Sa Kaeo province. The incident occurred in the Ban Nong Chan area of Non Mak Mun subdistrict, Khok Sung district, causing immediate fatalities among Thai forces operating in the area.

Thailand Orders Banks to Flag Big Foreign Cash Inflows
