A Myanmar national was apprehended on January 13 after allegedly vandalizing 19 vehicles in Thailand's Satun province. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Saw, was caught on CCTV using stones and a digging tool to damage cars in the La-ngu district. The attacks took place around 3am, waking residents and causing significant property destruction.

The rampage began with the suspect using stones before switching to a steel-handled digging tool. Witnesses reported hearing loud noises and observed the individual walking along the roadside and damaging parked cars. Local police managed to arrest the suspect within an hour and recovered the tool allegedly used in the incidents. The arrest provoked an angry response from locals, who gathered at the police station demanding explanations.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect tested positive for illegal drugs and had unlawfully entered Thailand without a valid work permit. He now faces charges including property damage, illegal entry, and drug use. Residents expressed fear during the incident but were hesitant to intervene due to the suspect's aggressive behavior.

Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the damage and are working with residents to assess their losses. The case has highlighted issues related to border security and drug-related offenses in the area, reported The Thaiger.
