A 79-year-old retired female teacher was found murdered inside her home in Namin Alley, Bangkok, prompting an urgent police investigation and a search for a missing housekeeper. The body was discovered on 21 January 2026 at around 14:55 in Soi Nawamin 70, within the jurisdiction of Bueng Kum Police Station. The incident has raised serious safety concerns among residents in the surrounding neighbourhood.

According to police, the victim was the homeowner and had been living at the property prior to the attack. Her body was found with severe injuries, including extensive trauma to the face consistent with being struck and multiple incised wounds to the neck, face, and ankles caused by a sharp object. The condition of the body indicated a violent assault that resulted in her death at the scene.

Initial enquiries revealed that the house was closed and secured when officers arrived. Neighbours told investigators that a Lao national employed as a live-in housekeeper was no longer at the property and could not be located. Police are treating the disappearance as a key line of enquiry and are working urgently to trace her whereabouts.
