Hi everyone, I'm a Spanish freelance SEO consultant currently staying in Thailand (Pathum Thani area). My current permitted stay expires on July 3rd, so I'm planning to extend it 30 days before that date, and then travel to Vietnam to apply for the DTV Workcation visa. My situation: Spanish passport (visa exemption entry, 60 days) Freelance SEO consultant — all clients are based in Spain, invoiced and paid to my Spanish bank account I have contracts/invoices I can provide as proof of remote work for foreign clients My concern — funds: I have 500,000+ THB equivalent in my Spanish bank account, but the funds come from a personal loan I took out in March 2026. The money has been sitting there for about 4 months by the time I plan to apply (July/early August). My questions: Does the embassy in Ho Chi Minh City typically scrutinize the source of funds, or just the balance and seasoning period? Has anyone been approved with loan funds rather than savings/income? Would it help to also show recurring freelance income alongside the loan balance? Any specific tips for applying from HCMC as a non-Vietnam resident (Spanish, applying as a third-country national)? Thanks in advance — this forum has been incredibly helpful reading through previous threads.
