Wide Screen Plasma's @ Phuket International Arrivals

Featured Replies

I travel into Phuket International Airport regularly, and recently noticed that they have a couple of large plasma screens attached to the pillars, just in front of the immigration officers. Visually it looks very well done, and there seems to be a presenter giving some sort of info/news. Unfortunately there is no volume.

Is it a news channel? If so is it just in the airport? Has anyone else noticed it?

Screens have been there for awhile in the departures area. Airport has been making much needed cosmetic improvements with the carpeting and seating areas. The place has been slowly improving. Usually when we have sat there bored due to the growing flight delays, we have had to amuse ourselves by looking at the morbidly obese types stuffing their faces and playing games such as guess which passenger is due for a coronary, guess which one is going to tell his office buddies he was in Phuket for the cultural experience and musueums and which passenger now has an infectious disease. The best time of the year to use the airport is when there are plenty of scandanavian passengers. Always pleasing to the eye and easy on the nerves because they still have basic manners.

Probably makes sure he picks a seat where he can see himself reflected in some glass.

Certainly not. I am quite sensitive and don't think I would hold up to contemplating the possibility of a stroke or having to look at my growing gut and receding hairline. Hence, my comment about the scandanavians. A smart traveller with an appreciation for dignified beauty always gets a seat in their viewing range.
