February 9Feb 9 I've never paid much attention to articles about Win 11. I am very, very interested now as I will have to buy a new laptop this year. The alternative OS would still allow the 'spy chip' to operate would it not?<iframe width="1265" height="712" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/noaYSy-vKOo?list=WL" title="The Windows 11 Crisis Explained Like You're 5" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
February 9Feb 9 I am in the process of moving over to Linux Zorin, with very successful results. Try it!
February 9Feb 9 My Win11 computer clocks at 3-4 times the speed of my Win10 computer, and it still takes longer to open folders and files.I'm just about far enough away from work and hobbies that made the switch to Linux "difficult" because I've got dozens of programs designed for Windows and that's what the office network used and required. Nowadays, being retired, there's only a couple that I use. Then I'm ditching Windows. I'll probably keep one of my existing Win computers around just in case I need to fire up some legacy software.Anyone who's not tied to Windows by work, I'd suggest avoiding it. Especially if you're starting with a clean slate. That's after watching about a dozen YouTubes that go way over my little pinhead about how evil MS has gotten toward their users. Their big money comes from pimping out their users (that's us) and our data to their real customers. I've got no opinions on the Apple vs Linux question.

No Microsoft account, turn off Telemetry, turn off CoPilot, no real details ever registered with Microsoft..

Collect enough info and they can gain an accurate picture of you.If you don't have any subscriptions with them, they don't have that information. If you don't have a Microsoft account, they don't have access to the data that a Microsoft account can reveal. If you switch off Telemetry, that's less data about you that is being sent to them.Using another OS keeps that information out of their hands....until they buy the company behind that OS and start to accumulate the info gleaned from there. 😊Privacy is a privilege these days.
February 10Feb 10 Apart from a totally unverified YouTube video what proof do you have of this false scaremongering?
