March 2Mar 2 Author It is a rule by many airlines that you have an exit ticket. Many wont let you check in without one. Not generally asked for it on arrival in Thailand though. Overstay being the main worry, though of course this onward ticket rule doesn,t automatically prevent that.

I think its a MOOT POINT. Whether airline rule or immigration rule. It doesn,t matter. Fact is, the rule it can be enforced by the airline at point of departure.
