Pressure Cookers

Trips to BKK are few and far between for some of us. If we got enough farang stuff to last until the next trip we'd need an extra car to haul it all home. No, cooking beans is a worthwhile goal if you want beans regularly.

But Tutsi, I had a thought; you aren't adding any salt to the water you soak or cook the beans in, are you? They'll never get tender if you do. You add the salt after they are done. Let us know when you get some good beans cooked in the pressure cooker. Soak first!

nah...never added salt to the soaking beans...what's the point ob dat? as per usual, seasoning is only added during last stages of cooking...

I've left (I give up...three keystrokes and the cursor is all over the screen... :o ...stinkin' hp laptop piece ob <deleted> )

^ hehehe. Soak the beans, cook for a day in the rice cooker and then add the other stuff the day after. How many times do I have to tell you? Of course you don't add salt until you get all the real stuff in there, and I don't use much anyway. I can see us at dawn having a rice cooker pressure cooker duel, Tuts.

I visited my favorite Korean grocery store in USA and noticed they had these very high-tech Korean made pressure cookers. Never saw them before... The website has very little English but this is the best place to start:

http://neweng.cuckoo.co.kr/products/Produc...p001&mmes=1

The model they had in the store sold for about $150 -- some of the (brown) rice varities favored by the Koreans cannot be cooked properly without a pressure cooker (as I was once told) or else they are just in a big hurry

Maybe they can be shipped to LOS.

Why the many posts?? -- jet lag after the 17 hour ThaiAir non-stop JFK to BKK
