You think that'show it works? When a market is already tapped out by demand and a source goes off line? The demand for oil in the short and medium run is pretty much inelastic. In a market where demand is strong and even a small amount of supply is lost, prices rise out of proportion.

Market is tapped out ... that's funny. supply is controlled to keep the price high. What happened during covid, less demand, less production, higher prices.

They can produce as much as the want, they simply choose not to. Called controlling the market & price control.

Remember the 70's, when the world was running out of oil, and the refineries were full up, and tankers Q'ing to offload, but you were told & believed there was a shortage as you Q'd up to fill up.

Didn't learn anything then, and now, your're still believing the BS cheesy

The request would be for minesweepers. The US have 4 Avenger class minesweepers left; the Patriot, Pioneer, Warrior and Chief. All currently based in Japan, and intended for scrapping in 2027. The Devastator, Sentry, Gladiator and Dextrous were previously in the Gulf, but were decomissioned September last year, and all have arrived at Philadelphia for scrapping.

The Royal Navy has 8 minesweepers in service, plus 7 Arcimus autonomous Minesweepers and 3 Thales autonomous minesweepers.

HMS Middleton was the last Hunt class deployed in the Gulf, and was withdrawn at the request of the GCC in January 2026. Middleton is no longer seaworthy, like the 4 Avenger boats, and was also transported by heavy lift, and then towed into Plymouth. Its not going to be scrapped but will undergo a refit.

Ledbury is involved in sea trials of new systems. Bangor is guarding the nukes. Only Cattistock I think is available for deployment. The others are either undergoing refits, or, in the case of Chiddingfold, being used as a source of spare parts.

Could not have picked a better time to invade...

Impressive response. A claim of conspiracy backed by only your word. You should publish that in the Journal of Because I Say So.

Let me show you an alternative way to disagree:

The Myth of the Oil Glut Is Dead

The Strait of Hormuz disruption has shattered the long-held belief in a global oil glut, revealing that the market was actually running with very thin spare capacity and fragile supply chains.

Even a record 400 million-barrel strategic reserve release failed to push prices down significantly.

Years of underinvestment in oil projects, limits to U.S. shale growth, and geopolitical risks mean markets could stay tight.

Facts that we have to take your word for. And how could anyone ever doubt the assertions of an anonymous poster in this venue?

As for oilprice.com it actually is an excellent source for coverage not only of the oil industry, but of renewables as well, It consistently posts articles pointing out the increasing economic threat to the fossil fuel industry posed by renewables.

And there's this:

"OilPrice.com is rated Least Biased due to its consistent adherence to factual, balanced, and technical reporting across the global energy sector. The publication demonstrates High factual reporting, supported by transparent ownership, reliable sourcing, and a clean fact-check record."

Iran’s oil sales soar past pre-war levels

According to Kpler, since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28, nine tankers have loaded Iranian oil and departed the Persian Gulf, mostly heading towards China, which has been identified by tracking firms as the main buyer of Iranian barrels over the past few years.

Data indicate that tankers have been loading an average of 2.1mn barrels of Iranian crude oil per day, exceeding Iran’s daily exports of 2mn barrels in early February and before the conflict began

Iran doesn't care who or what they target as long as they inflict damage. More like a terror campaign, just like Putin's M.O.

(Bloomberg) -- US President Donald Trump said he is “demanding” that other countries contribute to the defense of the Strait of Hormuz as it remains effectively closed to oil tankers.

Trump said the US is in talks with “about seven” countries to get involved helping ships pass through the strait, declining to specify which nations are involved in the discussions.

In an interview earlier Sunday with the Financial Times, Trump said he could delay his planned summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping if Beijing doesn’t help unblock the strait. He also warned in that interview that NATO would face a “very bad” future if member states fail to help in Hormuz.

After these countries tell Trump to stick it he will blame them for the catastrophe he created. Same goes for anyone in his administration who follows his orders. He cans them when things go wrong even though they did exactly as he commanded.

China would not be happy if the oil tanks and facilities on the island were hit.

But then, if these were destroyed, the facilities in other Gulf States would be destroyed, in a tit for tat move by Iran.

Personally, I think this might be good for the world.

Why: This would bring to the world's attention that rogue states such as Israel must be dismantled, or not supported, since they are not accountable for their actions.

The very destruction of the oil facilities will be the result of a very clear cause and effect relationship between:

a. Israel attacks on Iran. Israel and then the USA attacked first.

b. This led to escalation.

c. This escalation led to destruction of oil facilities in various countries in the ME.

d. Further escalation led to destruction of desalination plants in various countries.

e. Israel, will then use the Samson Option, and attempt to destroy Iran, completely, which is its main goal.

f. But, in doing so, Israel will completely and utterly destroy itself.

Beats running out of armaments. IR can't be taken lightly, as they've been at terror for decades, and quite good at it. If billions spent save US servicepersons lives, so be it. One less pine box works for me, not that we, USA military should even be there.

I'd rather provide Israel & Iran with a couple nukes each, and let them use them on each other, since they both preach the some, our way or no way. Kill the infidels.
