Comey subpoena again, lets hope justice finds accountability if everything goes accordingly .

Trump's playbook is to prosecute anyone who opposes him, on the flimsiest of pretexts. It says a lot about the moral vacuity of posters who cheer on a convicted felon going after honest people.

Federal prosecutors have wide discretion when it comes to subpoenas, which can seek either records or testimony. Federal grand jury subpoenas are typically issued by federal prosecutors without judicial oversight or direct involvement of federal grand jurors. While the subpoenas are issued under court authority, it’s only when a recipient of a subpoena files a motion to quash a subpoena — as the Federal Reserve did — that a judge reviews the matter.

The magnificence of having a court proceeding in another jurisdiction besides DC & Virginia and other bias locations is having one in Florida, just like it was for the dems who sought NY.

This time the court will not falter on technicalities , like the first attempt at the derelict x fired Comey , who lied to Congress.See you in court again Jimmy, dig deep into lawyer fees, you’re gonna need deep pockets.

AI Gemini:

Legal Scrutiny: Lawyers for former CIA Director John Brennan, a target of the inquiry, described the investigation as "manufactured" and "mystifying," questioning the legal basis for the investigation in Florida.

Connection to Trump: While much of the intelligence work occurred in Washington, the probe appears linked to Florida due to it being Donald Trump's residence.

NB So this is a great case for Florida except it doesn't appear that any of alleged transgressions took place in Florida.

Florida juridictions hard at work trying to hold dishonest intel officials accountable.

Its no easy task, God Speed.

Google ai overview:

"The investigation is part of a broader push to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation, which resulted in a criminal referral for Brennan and has seen multiple investigations of former officials involved in the 2016–2017 period",

FBI launches probes into former FBI, CIA directors, Fox News reports

Grand Conspiracy investigation been goin on for a very long time . If anything comes of it ,this will be the jurisdiction .

"The probe in Florida has sought information from several former officials, with both NBC and CBS reporting that at least 130 subpoenas have been issued since the investigation began last year".

"NewsNation, The Hill’s sister network, confirmed Comey was subpoenaed in the probe, which is also reviewing the previous investigations into President Trump, including the work of Obama-era intelligence officials".

So, it would be less profound or more profound if Nan Laew had written something like given that the DOJ's clownish efforts to prosecute Comey based have already failed ignominiously, it's dubious that they will fare any better this time.

I can still remember the frothing of right wingers as they prophesied a dire downfall for Comey despite the obvious defects of the evidence brought against him.

I concluded a long time ago Trump supporters have the intellectual capacity of an amoeba.

In baseball, we used to say "ofer", meaning no hits, as in 0 for 4.

Trump's attack dog weaponized DoJ is ofer in trying to get back at critics of their master. They have failed repeatedly, from Comey to James to Slotkin and Kelly to others.

This convoluted second attempt to get Comey might have the cult getting all wet and woody, but so did the last few dozen attempts by DoJ. Even in Trump 1.0 it failed, despite the endless cries of "Wait until Durham gets them!". Well, Durham found each person involved in the Russia investigation behaved professionally and followed the rules by the book.

The fact is, when the intel began to come in regarding the Trump campaign's obvious cooperation with Russia, action had to be taken. It would have been a dereliction of duty not to pursue it. Intel came in via clandestine assets and foreign liaison to CIA. DCI Brennan followed the rulebook, as Trump et al are "US Persons", requiring him to hand everything over to the FBI, who has jurisdiction when US persons are involved. Brennan set up a Bigot List, which both limits distribution and catalogues everyone who has seen any of the intel, and severely limits who is allowed to be read in. Then it was up to the FBI to follow up.

All of the intel was presented to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) as well as the House equivalent (HPSCI). SSCI was first chaired by Senator Richard Burr, but he had to step down due to an investigation into him. Senator Marco Rubio, now SecState, took the chair. SSCI released their report noting the many areas of cooperation between the Trump campaign and Russia. Most notable was the trip to Spain carried out my Campaign Chair Paul Manafort, who handed detailed internal polling data to GRU asset Konstantin Kilimnik. Kilimnik than passed that data to the GRU's "Internet Research Agency" (IRA), who manufactured stories about Hillary Clinton's health or some fictitious involvement in a made up scandal called Uranium One. The IRA then used the data handed to them by Manafort to microtarget voters in key swing States.

The SSCI report also noted the cooperation between campaign staffer Roger Stone and Wikileaks, who gave Stone many heads up regarding info Wikileaks was about to report, which were largely made up stories by a Romanian who was an asset of the FSB of Russia. Trump even noted one heads up in a campaign speech, saying "Soon, maybe Monday or Tuesday of next week, some information is going to come out on my opponent you will find very interesting."

If Doj goes forward trying to build a case---and they specifically chose "friendly" south Florida where they might draw Trump lackey Judge Cannon---Comey's defense will absolutely call SecState Rubio to the stand as well as Paul Manafort. That would not end well for the prosecution.

More likely this will be dropped, as one intent just seems to be staying a thorn in the side of Comey and Brennan and forcing them to endure legal costs (though they are likely to get pro bono help).

The DoJ will then likely resume its search for a ham sandwich to indict, per the quote from Judge Wachtler, while the MAGA cult will be deflated once again and show themselves as impotent as ever.

Anyway, I feel it my obligation to stick up for slighted amoebas. Sure, sometimes they can cause abdominal distress, but that's nothing compared to the harm MAGAs have brought on this planet.

Would it make you feel better if I likened MAGA's to giardia, or cryptosporidia?

After all, they are more evolved than amoebas, in terms of functioning as parasites.

Per the topic title: Comey subpoena again, News

Subpoenas can challenged and quashed by the Judge. Since the Judge is likely to be Ms. Cannon, she may deny the motion. From AI Gemini:

Generally, a ruling on a motion to quash a grand jury subpoena is not immediately appealable because it is not considered a final order.

Contempt Requirement: To challenge a denied motion to quash, the recipient must typically defy the subpoena and allow a judge to find them in contempt, which is a final, appealable order.

New revelations show how the FBI under Obama's admin misled the FISA court to spy on Trump adviser Walid Phares, echoing the same Crossfire Hurricane abuses overseen by Comey, while suppressing evidence, adding to the ongoing DOJ grand conspiracy investigation now hitting Comey with another subpoena.

“They knew they had nothing on Russia, so they went after me on Egypt. But the main target was President Trump,” Phares said. “They had to neutralize him and any of his associates who could carry out his agenda.”

So the "process" is the punishment, not the outcome of any trial! The Department of Justice having, effectively, unlimited resources and Comey having to find the money to fend them off!

Bannanna Republic stuff at it's most blatant!.

Now remind me, did not the Attorney General not state quite categorically, in her confirmation hearing before the Senate that she would not indulge in these sort of vindictive processes? I mean, surely, a woman of her extraordinary calibre would not have been lying?

It was a smart move setting up two legal jurisdictions DC/Virginia where many efforts from conservative leaning trials fail. and Florida /Miami that convened a grand jury criminal investigation last year.

Justice Department’s brewing case against former CIA chief tests its efforts to prosecute Trump foes

Justice Department prosecutors leading an investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan are facing increasing pressure from top Justice officials to bring criminal charges against him after the department has flailed in trying to punish President Donald Trump’s perceived enemies, people briefed on the matter told CNN in recent days.

Prosecutors in the Miami US attorney’s office have been leading the Brennan probe, which relates to testimony the ex-intelligence chief gave to Congress in 2023 and the Russia investigation years earlier, issuing two rounds of subpoenas to several witnesses.

Yet the push for charges has run into career prosecutors raising concerns in southern Florida, with some viewing the potential case as relatively weak.

https://kvia.com/politics/cnn-us-politics/2026/03/10/justice-departments-brewing-case-against-former-cia-chief-tests-its-efforts-to-prosecute-trump-foes/

The Federal prosecutor has been trying for months to secure an indictment. What are the odds that this will end the same way Trump's other politically motivated prosecutions have ended?

As FBI Director, 2013 to 2017 (under Obama), he oversaw the launch and early stages of Crossfire Hurricane, which the article explicitly references as the context for similar FISA abuses, evidence withholding, and political bias that extended into the Mueller era. We know this from the Michael Horowitz inspector General report.

"DOJ is building a “grand conspiracy” case against former Obama and Biden officials for allegedly committing political espionage against Trump and his advisers by manufacturing criminal investigations and depriving them of their rights under color of law".
