Iran fearing economic collapse …

Featured Replies

“Iran's already weak economic outlook shattered by war

Most perilous moment may be after bombing ends

Crackdown includes arrests, executions, street mobilisation

A month into its war with the United States and Israel, Iran is trying to forestall any spark of domestic unrest with arrests, executions and massive street deployments by security forces and supporters, recruiting even children to staff checkpoints.”

They use the same propaganda templates that are used with Russia. They don't even bother to spice them up. That show just how dumb the average American is who consumes this blather.

There are number of other regimes far more likely to collapse in the Middle East, Bahrain and the UAE being examples.

Economic collapse is a lot more devastating than bombs and missiles. If the economic system does indeed cease to function, thousands will die of starvation unless Iran gets massive humanitarian aid.

However, economic systems are very resilient. Germany's economic system didn't collapse in the aftermath of WWII.

Germany’s economy did collapse at the end of World War II, but it eventually recovered some years later.

Only because the Allies used massive airdrops to supply and feed German civilians Evil. Without it most would have starved to death.

The US is allowing Iran to sell its oil, in order to address supply issues in Asia.

Am I alone in thinking this is crazy?

I guess we need a definition of "economic collapse." One man's collapsed economy is another man's very shaky economy.

Huge amounts of aid were indeed able to fend off mass starvation in Germany. However, hunger in post-war Germany depended more on worldwide food shortages in the aftermath of WWII than a collapsed economic system. The economy limped along; there just wasn't anything to buy or sell through previous channels..

Very good to know. Officially Russia and Iran have been in a state of "economic collapse" for at least 10 years.

When the US finally admits defeat (trying to dress it up as a great success) and runs home humiliated yet again, the adults will enter the room.

Talks (not threats) will resume to open the Hormuz Strait to shipping. Iran will probably have some sanctions lifted possibly help to rebuild and may even get a fee for safe passage for ships transiting their waters.

Apart from US and Israeli ships that will be permanently barred as will any cargo destined for them.

After that Israel will be even more vulnerable I fully expect more attacks from Iran against Israel greater support and more advanced weapons for Iranian proxies and Iran will most definitely get a nuclear deterrence and intercontinental ballistic missiles now if for nothing else than to deter any future attacks.

Middle East countries will think twice before getting into bed with the US and personally I hope all the European countries withdraw from NATO and form its own alliance or an EU wide military then all the US forward bases could be closed permanently. No need to fall out we can still be on friendly terms.

The Russian Ukrainian war will end one way or the other and Putin will one day be replaced, who knows maybe one day Russia will even become a member of the EU maybe unthinkable at the moment but who know what may happen in the future.

Of all the major powers in the world at the moment the most stable would appear to be China.

Bahrain and UAE have billions in sovereign investment funds parked in safe places. They will cut back on extravagence and capital prjects for awhile.

So Iran bombed America and won the war according to you.
