Barely. Millions of people die every day around the world, so one US service man is not that big a deal. The biggest aspect of the story is whether or not it's even true. It would have been incredibly difficult for the US to have rescued a downed serviceman in Iranian territory. So the rescue was likely total fiction. And it's coming from sources that just can't be trusted. It is about as credible as the assassination attempt. And the miraculously healed ear.

As I have said on the site any number of times, the UK was the greatest force for good in the history of the world.

You've gone from Churchill to Starmer, you must be proud.

Do you think Iran should be allowed to further develop their intercontinental ballistic missiles and nuclear warhead programs or not?

If Trump did do this - hint he probably won't that - a genocide of a people pretty much at the behest of Israel - a double genocide from interlopers who stole the lands of a people at gunpoint and with terror and massacres because European anti-semites committed horrific injustices on a race then a suffering world will know where the blame lies. To the poor suffering Thai people who have been through a lot I hope you explain the niceties of history as they struggle to survive. I'm sure they will understand. Thank god for China quitely getting on with the world making stuff that people want and can afford and not starting wars and stoking up hate. The future belongs to them , and rightly so.

There's a reason the Yanks are hated around the World there arrogance, there bullying, there were the best in World better than you attitude.

I am better than you.

To answer this question honestly, and ignore what is clearly a thread designed to deliberately troll...

Yes, I care about a 1 single US pilot who was doing their job.

I care about both civilians and soldiers in Iran, I care about Israeli IDF soldiers who are Injured and I care about Civilians in Gaza, I care about people in the UAE, Iraq, Bahrain who've suffered Hardship, I care about the Uyghur.. Every single life 'should' be cared about - until that individual proves they have or are willing to carry out an 'subhuman act' of their own volition.

How many people posting here believe that Iran should be allowed to further develop their intercontinental missile program, and continue to develop the nuclear warheads to put on them?

A fair question - and one I actually answered today in another thread. Someone openly said they hoped Iran had nuclear capability so “this mess wouldn’t happen”.

That line of thinking isn’t just naïve - it ignores how nuclear proliferation actually works.

If Iran crosses the nuclear threshold, it doesn’t stabilise the region - it detonates a chain reaction. Saudi Arabia has already signalled it would pursue nuclear weapons in response. Turkey and Egypt would be under immediate pressure to follow. That’s not deterrence - that’s a multi-state nuclear arms race in one of the most volatile regions on Earth.

Now add delivery systems. Iran isn’t just developing missiles for show - intercontinental capability changes the equation entirely. You move from a regional threat to a global one. That pulls in NATO, escalates US-Russia-China tensions, and dramatically shortens decision times in a crisis. That’s how miscalculations turn into catastrophic outcomes.

And the consequences wouldn’t stop at military conflict. The Middle East sits on critical global energy routes. Any nuclear escalation risks shutting down the Strait of Hormuz - roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes through there. You’re not just talking about war - you’re talking about immediate global economic shock, supply chain collapse, and real-world knock-on effects like food shortages and famine in vulnerable regions.

The idea that “if Iran had nukes this wouldn’t happen” completely overlooks the fact that nuclear weapons don’t remove conflict - they raise the stakes of every single misstep.

History shows deterrence only works under very specific conditions - stable actors, clear communication, and rational decision-making on all sides. The Middle East does not consistently offer those conditions.

This isn’t hypothetical. It’s a fast track to escalation with global consequences.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Thirty-eight days after the first strikes were launched, the White House declared the war's military chapter closed — and claimed it as a complete American victory.

On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted a formal declaration of victory on X, announcing the full success of the United States in what she named as Operation Epic Fury — the military campaign waged against Iran.

In her statement, Leavitt said: "This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen. From the very beginning of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump estimated this would be a 4-6 week operation.

Thanks to the unbelievable capabilities of our warriors, we have achieved and exceeded our core military objectives in 38 days."

Military leverage, diplomatic opening

Leavitt framed the military campaign as the engine of the diplomatic breakthrough that followed, arguing that battlefield success created the conditions for negotiation. "The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace," she said.

The press secretary also highlighted the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as a signature achievement of the operation, stating that Trump had succeeded in getting the waterway reopened. She closed with a pointed message: "Never underestimate President Trump's ability to successfully advance America's interests and broker peace." Further details on the military outcomes are expected from the Secretary of War and Chairman Caine on Thursday morning.

If you just listened to Hegseths latest Briefing you will know all about A*** licling and B/S. Acording to him Iran were begging for a ceasefire and our great leader DJ Trump he spared the iranian people from Death. It was sickening listening to his Waffle. RThey were not begging for a ceasefire when two hours before the deadline an Iranian Missile targeted a US complex in the Airport in Baghdad and and Sirens were aired in Dubai Qatar and Bahrain begging my arse. Do you honestly think any marine or Special opps were killed in the F15s rescue would be broadcast. We will never know because the impact would have been the End for Trump.

Or should I just call you and every Brit a leftist buffoon for what Starmer says?

Do you care about the roughly 400,000 men in the British armed forces, and an equal number of their U.S. counterparts, who died in WWII to preserve the freedom of future generations? Add to that the horrific death tolls of 8.5 to 11.5 million in the Soviet military and two to three million in the armed forces of China. Without their sacrifices, the number of U.K. and U.S. deaths would have been much higher.

Think about it. Maybe you should care.
