Bkk Angkor Wat By Car ?

Featured Replies

Hi there

How many kilometers between Bangkok and Angkor Wat ?

How are the roads ?

Is it a nice trip ?

Also, do we need any special paperwork for the car ?

Thanks All

Actually, I thought about doing this a few years back in my own pick up. A friend warned me that once you cross the border (asuming you get that far!!), a farang driving a car is one hel_l of a temptation to the bandits.

If you break down or get hi-jacked, are you gonna call the AA/RAC (or other equivalents)?

NOT WORTH IT

The roads suck.

Don't know about the paperwork required but here's a June 2007 road report:

Thanks for the answers. Seems I have to think twice about this ! Very interesting link, Mac

Last year a couple friends of mine hired a van and a driver for that trip. When they got back, they said it was the absolute WORST road trip they had ever been on.
