Trump Issues Expletive-Filled Threat to Iran in Social Media Post

Featured Replies

US President Donald Trump has issued an expletive-laden warning to Iran, threatening to destroy key infrastructure if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping by a newly extended deadline.

Get today's headlines by email image.png

The threat was delivered in a strongly worded message posted on Trump’s Truth Social platform as tensions continue to escalate during the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

Despite the aggressive rhetoric, Trump later suggested diplomacy could still prevail, saying there was a “good chance” that an agreement with Tehran could be reached.

Ultimatum over vital oil route

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, with roughly a fifth of global oil and gas shipments normally passing through the narrow waterway. Iranian actions that have disrupted traffic there have pushed global oil prices sharply higher and raised concerns about rising inflation worldwide.

Trump has repeatedly set deadlines demanding that Iran fully reopen the route.

In his Truth Social post, the US president warned that Iranian infrastructure could be targeted if access to the strait is not restored.

He wrote:
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Trump later told Fox News that negotiations might still succeed but warned that he was considering major military action if an agreement was not reached quickly.

Iran dismisses warning

Iranian officials rejected the ultimatum, describing it as reckless and irrational.

Mahdi Tabatabaei, a spokesman for the Iranian president’s office, said the Strait of Hormuz would reopen once compensation arrangements were made for damage Iran says it suffered during the conflict.

Tehran has suggested that ships transiting the waterway could be required to pay tolls as part of those compensation efforts.

A senior Iranian commander, Gen Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, criticised Trump’s warning, calling it a “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action” and warning that “the gates of hell will open” for the US leader if attacks are carried out.

Rescue mission after fighter jet downing

Trump’s remarks came shortly after US forces confirmed the rescue of the second crew member from a Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle shot down over Iran.

According to reports, the rescue operation took place in mountainous terrain in south-western Iran after a firefight in hostile territory. The jet’s pilot had already been recovered shortly after the aircraft was brought down on Friday.

Both Washington and Tehran had launched searches for the missing crew member following the incident.

Regional fighting intensifies

The downing of the fighter jet occurred during more than a month of fighting following US and Israeli air strikes on Iranian targets. Tehran has responded with attacks against Israel and several Gulf countries allied with Washington.

Israel has continued to strike Iranian infrastructure, including a petrochemical facility hit on Saturday. Defence officials say Israel is also awaiting US approval for additional strikes against Iranian energy sites.

US-Israeli strikes also targeted Qasem Soleimani International Airport on Sunday.

Iran has continued firing drones and missiles across the region. In Haifa, a ballistic missile struck a residential building, injuring four people.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi said falling debris from an Iranian missile caused fires at a petrochemical facility. Officials in Kuwait reported severe damage to oil and petrochemical installations from drone strikes, while industrial and fuel plants were also targeted in Bahrain.

Trump has postponed several earlier deadlines demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz while saying negotiations were under way. Iran has denied that direct talks with Washington are taking place.

Trump almost certainly not. However ghastly he is - and he certainly sets the standard, I simply don't think that the US will allow the establishment of a precedent which allows a President face any sort of international court.

Whiskey Pete, well they might throw him under the bus!

The only ones who should be ashamed are the less than half of Americans who voted for him, and worse than them, the right wing republicans and their wealthy puppetmasters who orchestrated a successful propaganda campaign built on hate, racism, and lies, which tricked millions of gullible suckers into voting for him. So, I assume you yourself don't want to look like a moron, (too late?) I therefore suggest that you try to wrap your head around the fact that citizens of a country are not broadly and directly responsible for the actions of their government, or president etc, any more than you and your fellow Brits are responsible for your Prince Andrew's sex crimes. I certainly don't blame anyone but YOU for YOUR stupid remarks. I can pretty much guarantee you, backed up by statistics, that at least half of people who voted for Trump had no idea that he would turn on not only them, but everyone in the world. He lied to everyone. Many believed him. This is not MY doing, nor the rest of the sane and decent Americans. So take your personal insult to every good American and shove it up there right next to your head.

I'm an American - allow me to shed some insight into this. (You won't catch me discussing these things over a pint in a pub anywhere, and I suggest none of you bring up the topic). Trump is used to getting his way, used to bullying and threatening anyone and everyone into submission, used to breaking laws including international law and getting away with it, and was betting this would hold true in this war: that the Iranians would fear him, bow down, and surrender. The fact that they have successfully resisted him and given him and his administration a big bloody nose on the entire world stage for all to see, is intolerably humiliating to him. Picture his little toddler brain on fire, stewing and festering over this. That's exactly what you see. His head is exploding in slow motion. He keeps piling up the threats and curses, which the Iranians are laughing off even as they keep shooting down US aircraft proving the notion of air dominance to be yet another lie. The more they laugh, the more enraged he becomes. If we're all lucky he will burst a blood vessel in one of these fits of rage, and this will end.

If ex-president Trump is wanted by the ICC he won’t be visiting his Scottish golf course

Has any other president (ever) so publicaly threatened to commit war crimes? Throwing in the F bomb as part of this intimidation in public is just gutter level for a head of state.

I think every other country in the world except Israel would love to see Trump arrested for war crimes.

There will be a long queue for that.

He’s an adult, not a man baby and he refuses to join the baboon’s illegal war. For those reasons, I am happy he’s our prime minister. I would be ashamed to have an idiot like Trump at the helm, and so should you be.

A bit like the Bush cronies did, but in far more subtle way. They plainly and very sweetly lied to the UN on so-called biograde banned weapons in Irak. Trump or no Trump is not the issue. It is plainly about the american political arrogance and belligerancy that has been around since 1946.

Some forum members have mentioned war crimes and the ICC in earlier posts, but the reality is that the U.S. is not a party to the Rome Statute, and even worse, Congress passed the American Service‑Members’ Protection Act in 2002!

That law (often nicknamed the “Hague Invasion Act”) limits U.S. cooperation with the ICC and explicitly protects U.S. officials and military personnel from being handed over to it.

It even authorises the U.S. government to take measures to secure the release of any American detained by the Court.

Because of that, the idea that Trump or Hegseth could be prosecuted by the ICC unfortunately isn’t realistic.

Whether people like this or not is a separate debate, but legally speaking, the ICC has no jurisdiction over U.S. nationals unless the U.S. government agrees, and I can't see Trump handing himself in any time soon!

It matters not one fig, whether or not America signed up, what matters is that if there’s an arrest warrant for them, they can never leave the United States.

Same as Putin visiting a icc country nothing will happen

The difference is Putin is a sitting president, when Trump is no longer president, you can be assured there are many countries who will only be too happy to arrest him.

If there’s an arrest warrant for him from the ICC, he will not be visiting his Turnberry golf course, likewise, none of his minions will be going overseas, nor any officers in the army identified as committing the war crimes, and this will even extend down to individual soldiers who followed through on those illegal orders.

Don’t forget Nuremberg…..

Like all other countries with loons as leaders, we are proud of our country and know full well how many crazies have been in office over our lifetimes. It's not a reflection on us but how politicians can get into office with their words and money. A song by Threshold, "Falling Away", shows how things have gone, ...............................There's a fire by the wayside
And it burns so bright
As the smoke rolls in over us
We think that we're bathing in light
As we tend to our gardens
The world is growing wild
But we live in our tiny heads
And can't see past our own tiny minds

As we turn away from heaven's bright sun
To earth's dark star

We're powerless, we're paranoid
We'll never know what we destroyed
We're arrogant, so ignorant
We're falling, falling away

[Guitar Solo]

So we stop by the wayside
And we think we're smart
And we vote for the pretty ones
And curse when the world falls apart
And we swear we'll do better
But the sky's about to fall
So the smoke rolls in over us
And we are doing nothing at all

Tell me how good your leader is, and how he's followed up on his promises. Americans are very aware what some of us voted for (not me), Again, our and your leaders are not a reflection on us but what we hoped they would be.Do you look down on Germans because many of them wanted Hitler? Japan for Hirohito, North Korea for Kim, or any other people for the lunatics that got into office?

Look back at most leaders, who are mostly narcissists also, and see what they did. Some good, some bad. Trump, like all others besides Kings, will soon be gone, and hopefully we'll have a president who's not only for the people, has good relations with other countries, and isn't immoral, so we could actually be proud of him. Remember, there are likely thousands of your own people living in America, and some of them might have also voted for Trump.

I'm as far from naive as a person can be. It's nothing to do with me, nor any other Americans, as that thinking is prejudiced. Blaming Americans because we put our hope in a politician. I'm sure you and everyone you know has done the same, unless, like me, they don't vote. I don't trust most anyone, especially politicians, even if I've seen some do pretty well while in office.

The best way to know a people is actually to meet many of them in person, over many years, before you can even begin to judge any of them. Even then you're far behind, because people are all different, even if they all come from a certain country, creed, race or nationality.

If you're a Brit, which is just a guess, do you think I would call you a limey or tosser, without knowing you and seeing you interact? Even acting like a fool here doesn't make you a tosser but just a little dopey. If you voted for a moron who's trashing your country, i wouldn't call you naive or a fool but someone who was duped for being hopeful. We live or lived in the US most of our lives . Do you think we aren't aware of the yoyo that was put in office?

Trump has done a few good things, along with some that are not so good, and more that will take awhile to decipher , and this conflict where no one knows the endgame, was a decision he made, probably at the wrong time, but seeing no one here knows what Iran's plans were, besides having enriched uranium only used for weapons, and how they have treated their own people for the last few decades horribly, something had to be done.
