When are you clueless people going to realize your freedom is partly because of America? No one's trying to change a country's anything, especially their cultures. Making it possible for Iran's people to change their government is in their best interests, but totally in their hands, as it isn't our business. Getting rid of that terrorist thinking should be all country's goals.

It will be hard for trump to deny war crimes ,both by him and pistol Pete.

I just hope they both will live long enough to be convicted and jailed!

I just saw on TV that if Trump destroys civilian infrastructure (like energy-producing) it could be a war crime.

Tell me how good your leader is, and how he's followed up on his promises. Americans are very aware what some of us voted for (not me), Again, our and your leaders are not a reflection on us but what we hoped they would be.Do you look down on Germans because many of them wanted Hitler? Japan for Hirohito, North Korea for Kim, or any other people for the lunatics that got into office?

Look back at most leaders, who are mostly narcissists also, and see what they did. Some good, some bad. Trump, like all others besides Kings, will soon be gone, and hopefully we'll have a president who's not only for the people, has good relations with other countries, and isn't immoral, so we could actually be proud of him. Remember, there are likely thousands of your own people living in America, and some of them might have also voted for Trump.

In Uk and Australian elections, we don't vote for a leader. Starmer has mostly stuck to his electoral manifesto. Which is the problem. But you are deflecting.

Americans vote for what ever leader is selected by the major parties through a fairly corrupt primaries system, where its a battle not of ideas but of money.

Was Trump really the best the Republicans could come up with in 2016? Ditto Clinton.

Hitler never won an election. He obtained power through constitutional manipulation. Yeah, I do down on Germans who voted for the animal. So did Thomas Mann, the German Anti-Nazi essayist, who in 1945, reflected on whether there were "Bad Germans" and whether there were "Good Germans". He concluded there were only Germans, ie. Germans were collectively responsible for Hitler. For voting for him. For supporting him. For not speaking out more about him.

The story I have told here in brief outline is the story of German “inwardness.” It is a melancholy story—I call it that, instead of “tragic,” because misfortune should not boast. This story should convince us of one thing: that there are not two Germanys, a good one and a bad one, but only one, whose best turned into evil through devilish cunning. Wicked Germany is merely good Germany gone astray, good Germany in misfortune, in guilt, and in ruin. For that reason it is quite impossible for one born there simply to renounce the wicked, guilty Germany and to declare: “I am the good, the noble, the just Germany in the white robe; I leave it to you to exterminate the wicked one.”

Hirohito was an hereditory monarch. More than that, he had divine status. Your introduction of him into the discussion is crass. He was manipulate by the military factions. As an individual, he was pathetic.

Ditto with your comparison of Trump or Keir Starmer or Macron to the North Korean leader.

Yes, idiots, lunatics can make high office. But you lot voted for this bloke 3 times.

First time, 2016, yeah, I can see why, the anti-politician. 63 million Americans put their mark against Donald Trump's name. Then you had 4 years of firings, resignations, Russia investigations, sex offences, mumbling on stage, uv up the arse, inject yourself with chlorine, slag off your friends, embrace your enemies, threaten nuclear war on North Korea, trade war with China, trade war with Europe, healthcare chaos, riots, troops on the streets, Proud Boys, Nazi torch marches, Stormy daniels and the Mushroom penis, grabbing women by the pussy, Trump University scam, Impeachment, the Wall, Steve Bannon Wall scams, Puerto Rico bog rolls. He is remembered during this period as being supportive of Big Business, poor to worsening relations with other countries.

In 2016, what did 63 million Americans hope Donald Trump would be? Explain, given your wants, how Americans were proud of him in 2020?

Roll on 2020. So you think, ok, maybe some of the people who voted for him before have died, a fair few would look at his record, and think, "hang about". But it 2020, 74 million of you thought this crazy guy had done a good job. The next 4 years didn't get any better for him.

In 2020, what did 74 million Americans hope Donald Trump would be? Explain, given your wants, how Americans were proud of him in 2020?

In 2024, two lousy candidates, one of them probably a criminal. Usually what happens in a democracy, if people vote for someone else (minor parties pick up votes), or the turnout is terrible. This time 77 million voted for him. 77 million Americans liked a President who is immoral, regularly uses foul language who picks fights with allies and who cosies up to enemies. You can't say you didn't realise what he'd be like. His use of foul language has worsened over the years. Its a sign of deteriotating mental faculties. Saw it in my dad and grandfathers. Dementia and Alzheimers strips you of your normal social controls. They swear more, behaviour gets more exagerrated, often more violent. Your social conditioning starts to break down. What you are seeing now is the real Donald Trump, not the TV actor Trump, which is how most people knew him (when he played a role in The Apprentice).

Non-citizens cannot vote in US Presidential Elections. In my view, once a British person takes up the citizenship of another country, then they cease to be British. Not my people, as they have espoused a foreign culture and foreign loyalty. But you stated that , predictably, to deflect.

You've stated in previous threads, and on this thread, that you don't support Tump. But you spend a lot of time defending him. That what distinguishes a patriot from a nationalist. Germans who tried to overthrow Hitler were patriotic. Germans who didn't vote for Hitler, but went along with it, were nationalists.

So I have no faith Americans will vote for someone "for the people". You'd vote for whatever character corporations put in front of you. You are completely wrong that Americans will vote for people who "work for the people", are moral and that you can be "proud of". Of 3 contigious occasions, you have not done so.

You try and deflect, by pretending that Trump is a typical politician, and so drawing false equivalence with other countries.

The thread is about President Trump swearing like a drunken sailor in social media. If you want it to be a thread about other world leaders swearing their head off and threatening WW3, start another thread, rather than deflection.

Not could, would. Attacking civilian infracture can happen if such things are a military objective (eg a bridge used to facilitate the movement of military units, power plants used to power ammunition factories). But when that happens, the attacker has a duty of care to minimise civilian casualties.

Nothing in Trump's speeches indicate that he views these as military objectives. He views these as targets to destroy Iranian society ("bomb them back to the stone age").

But ultimately, it is only a war crime if someone decides to prosecute.

I don't deflect but point out the obvious. If a Brit moves and becomes a citizen of the US, he's still a citizen of England, unless he renounces his citizenship. It has nothing to do with your opinion.

It's best not to guess what goes on in America unless you've lived there for quite awhile, as the videos and podcasts you look at are likely biased.

Many voted for Trump simply because the other side was weak.

I again tell things as they are. It doesn't matter what anyone's opinion might be, even mine if I made one. Trump has done some good and bad things, just like ALL other politicians.

I support things a politician does right, not what they do wrong. This is called being neutral, and not taking sides, as that can easily blind you. Stop saying YOU when talking about Americans, as you probably don't even know any personally, and if you do, are likely judging all by them, which is stupid. I don't vote, so I'm also not included in that YOU.

Go pester someone else, as you aren't making any sense here, and like a couple of others already mentioned, are prone to insults, which usually come from prejudiced people who have hatred in their hearts.

Excellent yank bashing. You do it with style and panache! ❤️

Trump is right to be panicking. His meltdown is caused by the realization that the ***s have tricked him into the demise of the US empire. What poor white trash americans don't realize, is that this is the end of the petro dollar. The rest of the world shortly will not be funding america with unlimited loans (I won't even discuss the Saudi bond deal). Trump has literally handed world hegemony to China as a gift.

Not really something to look forward to, then we get that couch <redacted> Vance.

That aside, one worries a little his temper tantrum might see him launch a nuke to attempt to "solve" the problem he created, which on a country the size of western Europe with +90 Million people will be... tricky, and will likely see what little support the US has left on the world stage evaporate . Of course if Iran then does retaliate and they do have a nuke sitting on the end of one of their new hyper missiles (while they have been bleeding defense capabilities with 100s of drones every day) , then Israel is likely FUBAR, you'd need 100 nukes to destroy Iran and 2 to completely destroy Israel.

Watching a ex CIA ex Army Colonel give an interview saying they had wargamed boots on the ground some time ago for Iran when he was involved, and they'd need about 2 Million men to be successful.

We'll see I guess. One thing though, Trump is doing an outstanding job of swinging the world off oil and onto ecars (I have had one for 18 months and charge of my solar through the day for free over here at the arse end of Aus.) and e bikes, as well as uniting the world ... against the US, especially after postulating invading Canada, Mexico, Greenland etc.

Reading the comments in various WSJ articles and others, there does still seem broad support for Trump and people saying US allies are fair weathered and should be abandoned anyway. Apparently the US should be able to crap all over their allies with tariffs, invasion threats and threats to withdraw from alliances and we didn't even say thank you

I am not sure how the US managed to get such broad support around the world for a country like Iran, another amazing trick of Trumps and Bibi the Bobo

MTG not impressed

On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. I’m not defending Iran but let’s be honest about all of this. The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon. You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it. Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing. On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies. Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians.

President Donald Trump on Monday said he would like to “take” Iran’s oil — but that he hasn’t because Americans want to see the war brought to a close.

“If I had my choice, I’d keep the oil. But I also want to make the people of our country happy,” Trump told reporters at the annual White House Easter egg roll.

“Unfortunately the American people would like to see us come home. If it were up to me, I’d take the oil, I’d keep the oil, it would bring plenty of money. I’d also take care of the people of Iran much better than they’ve been taken care of,” he said.

He also called Americans who don’t support the war “foolish.”

In recent years, the Thomas Paine Band has written songs declaring loyalty to President Donald Trump with titles like “M.A.G.A. We Love the U.S.A.” But now, Trump’s actions in regard to Iran have the act asserting that he is a “demented” “psychopath” turned “dictator.”

“Every time Trump ran for President I voted for him,” wrote the Thomas Paine Band. “But now Trump is either a psychopath, demented, blackmailed or under threat from the Netanyahu regime…Trump went from ‘freeing the people of Iran’ to threatening to kill 93 million civilians. War time is a serious and somber time. It's not the time for the President to s—— post and suddenly be the dictator Democrats accused him of being for all of these years.”

The band, which once sang, “You’re on the Trump train — peace, love, and a strong defense,” is not alone in its disgust at the president’s actions. High-profile figures from the MAGA movement like Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Ann Coulter have come out against the war. MAGA comedians, musicians and other influencers are wondering, “What was I thinking?” And even Trump’s own former officials have expressed dismay about the president’s administration.

A Trump Truth Store based on Truth Social in Crystal Lake, Illinois, closed after sales plummeted amid the unpopular Iran war, as reported by The Chicago Tribune.

Owner Lisa Fleischmann announced the closure on Facebook March 26, writing, "I am not even making ½ of my rent."

Fleischmann told the Chicago Tribune that sales dropped sharply after U.S. and Israeli military strikes began February 28, with customers hesitant to purchase pro-Trump merchandise during the conflict.

She explained, "Sales were really slow. It all started with the war. It was dead as a door nail the minute that happened." Fleischmann suggested customers feared wearing President Donald Trump apparel would invite unwanted questions.

What would you like Americans to do about it? If they would allow it, and if there were ground forces, they could give me a rifle and I would help the Iranian citizens eliminate some of their enemy. Besides that, I'm not sure what else I could do.And I was eeferring to where you were born, not that you have 3 passports.

It's all your opinions. Again, my point is don't get on Americans' cases because Trump decides to do something, and you don't like his actions. This war was necessary, as we can see with all the Iranians celebrating for a possible end to Iran's regime, along with taking out definite terrorist leaders. America is a superpower that the world needs, as well as America needing as many countries on it and everyone else's sides for trade. Americans, some, do vote, but like all leaders who get in everywhere, they make some mistakes. This tenure isn't over yet, so hopefully more good than bad is done.

While I agree you should not put down all Americans because of numpty Trumps actions I do not agree at all that the war was necessary by any means. This is your and your opinion alone. America took out the leader of a country I hope you realize that, and a few weeks before kidnapped the president of Venezuela. These are in no way honorable actions.

No regime change was planned in either case. Surprises me anybody supports the course of action the USA took.
