The Oil Shock Is Worse Than You Think

Featured Replies

On Tuesday, before President Trump said the United States and Iran had reached a cease-fire agreement, a commonly cited price of Brent oil, the European one, was about $109 a barrel. That was well below highs reached in 2022, when that price briefly topped $130, without adjusting for inflation.

But in the market where energy companies buy and sell liquid oil transported on ships, the price was almost $145 a barrel, a record and more than double the price before the United States and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28, according to Argus Media, a company that tracks commodity prices.

And when advertisements use a second person pronoun, you take that personally too? It's a headline - not a PM.

Oh the cooking oil shock. 'Bout as good as the one on your COLA adjustment said he prefers Pepsi.

It could be worse

You could have cancer

You could be dead

You could be in a wheelchair

Carry on complaining.

Or maybe just a way from deflecting just how bad the situation is. And how it's going to get worse before it gets better.

I don't bash Trump. Even if I wanted to, it serves no purpose.

I just find for me personally the best way to get at him is to quote him:

transcripts, Truth Social, and do my best never to hear him speak.

You would think that many socialist, green, globalist countries like the UK and France, would now evaluate their anti-fossil fuel stances and realize that their green policies are not working when the oil spigots are turned off. But thinking is not a strong point for these green socialists. And unfortunately for them, they will suffer and the poor folks who voted for their green leaders might just reconsider their support. But I do not give much hope for that to happen as all they want to do is complain about President Trump.

Why worry about things you can't control? Waste of time.

You know very well most people dont give a toss about others. True feelings rarely extend beyond blood.

Life is selfish.

Pretty much, and don't think anyone is given 2 sh!ts about me either. Everything is fine here, M.E. conflict isn't affecting life at all.

Surfside was packed today, so not much to care about. Will be even more packed this evening, as it always is on the weekends. Just the one weekend wasn't, as gas companies were sandbagging the petrol till the price rose high enough to maximize profits.

Why should I care, if they obviously don't. Everyone just cowered & complied. Life goes on.

Trump's War ... he knocked Iran's nuke program back a decade, what war. A month of hitting military targets isn't really a war. War's are declared by Congress Just a wee bit of a skirmish.

Hasn't been a war since WW II

Yawn. Nice deflection to the actual point i was making.

You have no clue as to my experiences in life or what I have done or how I have lived.

If you did you would see how wrong you actually wre with your assertion.

But keep on keeping on.

You're the party who asserted about Tug "You know very well most people dont give a toss about others. True feelings rarely extend beyond blood."

And yet your response is "You have no clue as to my experiences in life or what I have done or how I have lived."

Thanks for the irony.

It could have been controlled if the MAGA clowns had not voted the idiot into office in the first place!

Did I say all people ? I know ive lived a life as a good person.

Do you know yourself that way ?

Conflict took place in every year of the 20th Century; the world was free from the violence caused by war for only very short periods of time. It has been estimated that 187 million people died as a result of war from 1900 to the present. The actual number is likely far higher.

What don't you understand that you made a claim about what Tug knows? You made it about him. I just pointed out what you had done. I made no comments about your personal life. Instead you accused me of doing what you had done to Tug. I very politely thanked you for the irony. Thanks again.

And ... how does that affect me. I don't know one person that has died or even physically injured in any conflict, since I was born, or in WW II. Father & Uncle served in Pacific campaign, WW II, made it back fine. Uncle even brought back a wife from JP.

You seem to be confused. Have at it.

You make a characterization but offer no reasoning to back it up. Just an empty assertion. It is to laugh.
