Your post is spot on.

Hopefully OP will post update if he goes to Vietnam.

Thinking my post about obtaining eVisa for Vietnam each 6 month as he has DTV is an option to just use his Oz pp.

I visit Saigon often and the eVisa is so simple.

Does Vietnam have an arrival form they give you on the plane to fill up or do you need to do something online like with Thailand?

I'm a DTV holder, and I'm about to do my 4th entry, and this time via Nong Khai. As previously stated, I don't see the point of coming straight back, as I think that goes against the spirit of a multi

In theory no min days out. You did not disclose DTV category. Never understand the urgency. Mini holiday sounds nice. Saigon would be my go to. Edit: now I see workstation. You should have zero issu

Here's the update:

Booked a return ticket with the Polish passport. No issues or questions asked at flight check-in counters both sides, except in BKK where she asked me to show her my stamp into Thailand, as she couldn't find an entry stamp. When I went to pull our my Aussie passport she said "oh you have another passport, ok" and didn't want to look at it then. Didn't even need to provide my Aussie passport or Evisa at the check-in counter for the flight to BKK. Seems in Vietnam they are chilled, not like other Western countries where they'd ask you where is your ticket out of Thailand or visa.

Entering Danang is bad though. I watched previous Youtube videos where they said it's a breeze, and a max of 10mins queuing at Passport Control. It's more like 30 mins, not 10 mins.

It's hit and miss in Vietnam. Sometimes I've been asked how long I'll stay in Thailand, sometimes they've spotted my re-entry permit before asking anything, and sometimes they haven't bothered at all. Moral of the story, as always, is that you need to be prepared to show your re-entry permit, visa or onward flight.
