MainLand Butter ?

Featured Replies

Is it still available , it has disappeared from Big C Kanchanaburi ( mind you , so has the rest of the Western foods ) but I see the MainLand cheese is still available.

MainLand butter was a straight out of the fridge spreadable butter , the only one I have found , the other spreadable butters are just not spreading.
Can't even find it on Lazada , Shopee.

Think your dreaming, never seen it in Pattaya, expat shops, big C, tops, land, photo of wrapping?

Seriously, just take a knob of normal butter out of the fridge and wait a minute 😊 Butter blended with vegetable oil is an abomination 😊

I keep a butter dish on the table ,and it's always spreadable ,

just use NZ butter, i am sure that spreadable stuff has something

added to it. not for me,. the butter in the dish this weather sometimes

splits in butter and gee ,i just cook with that especially curries

Whipping air into the butter also makes it 'spreadable', faster 🙄 Use to do that at the restaurant (pancake house) I worked at. Also adds volume to it, so 10 kilos goes a lot further. Got to read them labels ... 'organic' 🤣

I just use the Anchor Unsalted from Makro although tbh only put it on toast, make sandwiches without. Keep it in the fridge and getting it out 5 minutes before i need it is enough.

Not bad if it's just air.

May won't to try this brand, if you can find. Actually made in TH, not NZ, and also not silly priced.

Most "spreadable " butter products regardless of brand or origin are a combination of dairy and vegetable oil .

In other words a variant of "margarines" .

The real butter products that at refrigerated temps are non spreadable are now considered healthier than spreadable product but in reality who said you needed to use either instead of lard?

Sure it is 80% plus butter fat?

It not really 100% butter, as it contains additives. I certainly wouldn't be putting it on my bread. It's a product designed for baking.

Total fat 82.0% (cream fat 36.0% and butterfat 46.0%) /

Maltodextrin 0.7% / Fresh cream oil 16% /

Emulsifiers: (INS-71, INS-475) 1.3%

To be honest, I don't really understand why someone who purports to be flush with cash, is so inclined to cut corners when it comes to the quality of their food sorry

If you're too mean to buy Lurpak (that's me) New Zealand Westgold, grass fed, salted seems to be the next best thing.
