April 27Apr 27 The most simple way i can explain it, is that life is a paradox... it's both what you think it is and not what you think it is, at the same time. I'm telling the truth about everything.

April 30Apr 30 Somehow this beautiful poem made me think about this thread at this forum, and not necessarily this thread onlyThe SailA lonely sail is flashing whiteAmidst the blue mist of the sea! What does it seek in foreign lands? What did it leave behind at home? The billows play, the breezes whistle,And rhythmically creaks the mast.Alas, it seeks no happy future,Nor does it flee a happy past. Below, a current azure bright,Above, a golden ray of sun...Rebellious, it seeks out a stormAs if in storms it could find peace! written by Mikhail Lermontov in 1832 Edited April 30Apr 30 by Hummin

April 30Apr 30 3 minutes ago, Rockyroad said:So sailors go crazy?Think of it as a personality profile for someone who feels "bored by peace."For some people, a calm, stable life doesn't feel like "success"—it feels like a cage. When everything is quiet and the "sun is shining" (as Lermontov puts it), they feel stagnant, restless, or even anxious. They don't know what to do with themselves when there is no conflict to solve or adrenaline to chase. Here is a simple breakdown of how this poem describes that mindset:The "Azure" Trap: The poem mentions a beautiful, clear blue sea. To most, that’s a perfect day. To the "restless" person, it’s a desert of nothingness. They struggle to "get the days go by" because quiet days feel empty. The Storm as a Distraction: Seeking a storm is a way to feel alive. When things are chaotic, you don't have to sit with your own thoughts or your boredom. The "storm" (drama, high-stakes risks, or intense new projects) gives you a mission. The Paradox of Peace: The most famous part—seeking peace in a storm—means that for a restless soul, the only time their mind actually goes quiet and focused is when they are in the middle of a crisis. They find a strange, focused "calm" when things are falling apart because that's when they finally know how to act.In short: It’s about someone who is homesick for a place that doesn't exist, so they keep picking fights with life just to keep things interesting.

They can't handle peace. They need a storm. Also why Trump haters are so miserable. They have internal rage that must be released.6 minutes ago, Hummin said:Think of it as a personality profile for someone who feels "bored by peace."For some people, a calm, stable life doesn't feel like "success"—it feels like a cage. May 2May 2 Just now, Hummin said:I didnt even know he was back, was so quiet for a long time,It seems that I take up a lot of space in your thoughts. I didn't ever leave, I was simply busy with loved ones. Did you imagine something else?Lately you have revealed thoughts of imagined violence... That is not something that would ever come to my mind as a consequence of an online discussion. You want to fight with people who see life differently from the way you do?Is that the height of your intelligence? When you first came to my attention, I saw potential. Now I just see your limitations. Free your mind and the rest of you will follow. You are fighting with yourself. There is no one there but you.

May 4May 4 You guys that are a bit delicate in the brain area, you really don't want to be isolated at home, trawling social media, get out more, meet real people, use any social skills you have before you forget them, the young will just become non verbal, can't see that changing
May 4May 4 Contrary to the apparent belief of some here, the point of everything I post here is discussion. I'm happy if people agree or disagree or have another perspective. There are no 'winners' nor 'losers'.It's not to label each other, but to discuss the different perspectives and the experience of others. There are no right or wrong answers, no winning. We are all 'special' and not special at all. We learn from each other. It is most definitely, to encourage discussion and to perhaps challenge rooted perspectives and not against any one person. Though, I won't lie by saying that the way people react hasn't come to my attention. It's just part of a bigger picture of why people do the things that they do, rather than a judgement against anyone. This includes myself.

You would not talk to 1000 people in a mall. Forums create conflict and cowards can troll people. This is why the arguments never stop. Only a double edged ignore button might slow it up

But I do browse and post on a forum or two in my spare time. I'm quite sure we have others who have been and get around a bit, but still trawl social media and like to put up what they've seen for discussion. That seems less unhealthy than just being 'radicalised in your bedroom', all alone, by what you see on social media.I think even the people to whom your comments might be aimed, will still meet real people. Even if simply at a gym, on a cycle ride or down the pub. That won't necessarily glean you superior social skills. You might just get used to communicating with people like yourself. Birds of a feather and all that.
