I think what he means by mental illness is people who don't agree with him or his views/opinions 🤕

Glad you also noticed how he acts when you have his number. Trying to act like an expert in things psychological, when the only one with any real problems has shown to be him. Deflecting when it's pointed out, now it's you that has a psychiatrist. So funny.

If you leave him alone, he will surely attack another, as that's the MO with someone with behavioral issues. They just can't stay away. He has a little ability to act like he knows what he's talking about, but not the insight to understand it's him that's the culprit all along.

Changing usernames at least 8 times, and trying to be incognito is evidence of an abnormality, but of course he won't see that, as that disorder has them blind to their own faults, but eyes wide open to point out any in others, or to invent some if they aren't readily apparent. Sad, as these types go after decent humans most of the time.

Your posts make me smile 😊 So full of copium.

It's a thread on mental illness @fredwiggy That's why you are here. But you write about everything else. The attack on Iran by the USA and Israel... even me. But nothing about yourself. So why are you here?

We both know you have issues. Everyone has them to a certain extent. But you are in denial. You blame everyone else for your failures.

Look at the weird stuff you are writing...that I'm trying to be incognito...There is no evidence of that at all. You are just waxing lyrical. It's you creating that scenario for yourself in your head. It's not based on any reality. In fact, look at my username 😊

I know exactly what I do and why I do it. I see what I see. No apologies for that. You can write whatever you like about me, it doesn't bother me. But when are you going to admit to your issues?

What is interesting about it for you? You have been conspicuous by your absence. I'm glad that you have reared your head here now 😊

What do you have to say about yourself?

Don't need AI to find the narcissists, there is a list on most active posters. AN would have died years ago without them. So why are you here? Why am I, BTW...

4 from the top 5 are Trump haters. More narc than Trump. They don't even realise it. Most don't.

No, the US did not fund the Taliban. The Taliban showed up around 1994 which is 5 years after the USSR left Afghanistan.

The US funded the mujahideen, many of whom morphed into Taliban leaders. Mullah Omar founded the Taliban, he was a former mujahideen.

They picked a side. That side turned out to be bad too. Middle east is full of bad guys.

Autism is killing this minor pleasure of a board completely dead.

It used to be good for a little bit of information and some laughs. Now it’s like being trapped in a barrel with Rain Man.

If I wanna witness the special Olympics, I’m sure they have it on YouTube.

Who do you think is the most autistic person here?

You definitely know my vote.

At this point, it is no longer a discussion, just a loop of circular reasoning from people with very limited mental flexibility, who continue to believe the problem lies with everyone else.

It’s just about their mental issues. It’s completely tedious.

Their twitchy autism is something for their family to deal with, not happy retirees.

Why can’t they be the kind of retard that is cheery and sings in the choir or something?

Or an inspirational retard who can do the Rubiks cube fast or something.

Nobody likes a sullen, passive aggressive, OCD, dullard retard.

Who am I talking about?

There are a few obvious candidates, so I will not point fingers. The history speaks well enough on its own, and there is no need to spell out exactly who, or in plural what, the issue is. I would not brag too much either, since I have had my own share of run-ins and arguments with the very same people, so I am in no position to throw stones from a glass house.

Quote Carl Jung

While Carl Jung was never formally diagnosed with "clinical depression" by modern psychiatric standards, he famously experienced an intense period of profound inner turmoil and emotional distress between 1913 and 1918.

This period followed his high-profile split from Sigmund Freud and is often described by historians and psychologists as either a "creative illness," a mid-life crisis, or a borderline psychotic break.

The "Years of Inner Uncertainty"

During this time, Jung described himself as being under extreme psychological pressure. His symptoms included:

  • Social Isolation: He felt alienated and deeply lonely after losing his professional community.

  • Vivid Hallucinations: He experienced powerful, often terrifying waking visions and heard voices.

  • Emotional Weight: He struggled with a sense of "disorientation" and a heavy mood that today might be categorized as a depressive episode.

When people encounter something online that triggers a disproportionately aggressive or negative reaction, it’s often because that content reflects a trait, desire, or insecurity they’ve suppressed in themselves. Instead of dealing with that internal tension, they "project" it onto a stranger, making that person the villain so they don't have to face their own reflection.

So says Narcissus.555

Another way to say it: There is something powerful in awareness, in understanding why things are the way they are.

I cannot argue much with the meaning of your words, provided this is something you actually live by yourself and apply consciously, not just something you use on others.

It is in our nature, written deep into our DNA. We can shape it, discipline it, and soften its edges, but there is no complete escape.

I asked AI and it said almost 100% of people are negatively wired.

This does not exactly look like a film for delicate souls. Another version of Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock? Speed Demon is at least an interesting title.

You going to watch it STF?

AI often reflects the tone, framing, and assumptions of the person using it. So if someone goes looking for negativity, and keeps feeding the machine in that direction, it is hardly shocking that negativity comes back out.

And I asked AI about your claim which seems reasonable to me

There is a real concept in psychology called negativity bias: people often react more strongly to negative information than to equally strong positive information. That part is well supported. Reviews in psychology and neuroscience describe adults as showing a tendency to attend to and learn from negative information more strongly than positive information, and classic work even summarizes it as “bad is stronger than good.”

But that is not the same as saying “almost 100% of people are negatively wired.” That wording is far too absolute. Research also discusses individual differences, including variations in negativity bias and something called a positivity offset, where people can show more positive responses under neutral conditions. In other words, humans are not simply one-note negative machines.

That wording came from Gemini. I forget the question.

No.

Moses, maybe. Ben Kingsley should be fun to watch as a crackpot biblical character.

You definitely know my vote.

Why did you join a thread that is specifically about mental illness?

Why would you choose to attack someone who is suffering from autism? That's quite nasty from my perspective....and that is the crux of the matter. I can say more about that if you wish.

Most everyone on this thread is using the platform to attack someone/something else, but none are utilising it to discuss their own issues.

I'm happy to discuss my own 😊

One of my 'pleasures' on this board, is the opportunity to observe the human animal. Let's say it's my thing.

Let's say that I'm reasonably good at creating and maintaining good relationships. More so than I actually ever reveal here.

So perhaps what I read here is measured against that or certain other benchmarks, maybe even subconsciously at times.

That, in some cases, puts me out of step with some or many of the posters here.

For example in paying out to maintain a relationship. It's not something that I have ever had to do.

Being aware of the structure of a few of the foreigner/Asian relationships here, I was reluctant to mention it in conversation, as human nature dictates that it might cause discomfort to some. My upbringing was totally against any kind of boasting/showing off.

What caused me to bring it up in conversation here, was the suggestion that all women can be bought and that there was no difference between a wife, a prostitute and a paid for 'live in'(or not as fits the occasion).

An outrageous and insulting assertion to my mind, through my relationships with the people I know, that could not stand unchallenged.

I write this, as I want to give some context to a particular situation that others might have and will have interpreted differently. Some might have seen it as boastful(most definitely not), some may have seen it as trying to put them down(also not in my mind), some might see it as a lie, just being told to wind them up(obviously not).

The point of all this is to demonstrate how different people react to simple truth. They will come up with all kinds of scenarios to make themselves feel better about themselves and in turn with try to shift the blame to the person who is simply telling their truth.

Don't shoot the messenger.

In conclusion, some of the most obvious and persistent protagonists are right here on this thread, throwing stones at others, beating around the bush and doing everything to shield themselves from scrutiny. But it doesn't work that way. It's like a kid with chocolate all over his face, crying and insisting that he didn't eat the chocolate.

I can see what is what, from my own, very real experience. Including you, my friend. It's all relative. No point in crying about it and blaming others. Look to yourself.

It makes me smile to read the theories that people come up with in order to deflect from themselves. 😊

@Hummin likes to call that, the 'mirror effect'. It comforts him. A few here read and comfort themselves with theories, but fail to apply it to themselves.

Well, the Moses material was written down long after the events it refers to, and it seems deeply tied to family, tribal, and cultural memory later woven into a monotheistic religious framework. Many parts of the Bible may preserve echoes of real historical events, but filtered through long retelling before they were eventually collected and written down.

One possible explanation is that, if there was a real event behind the story, Moses knew of a place where people had crossed before and waited for the right natural conditions to return — low tide, shallow marshy water, and strong wind — making the crossing possible without requiring a literal miracle in the way it is later told.

Hollywood, on the other hand, is not something I would trust for much historical reliability. For entertainment and fictionalized history, it does the job. For truth, that is another matter.

No, will watch it for entertainment purposes mostly.

Hollywood may have hidden agendas in twisting historical narratives ...

There is clear examples here at the forum who come across as someone who constantly places themselves above others, psychoanalyzes everyone around them, and treats disagreement as proof of their own superiority. That is close enough to the behavior people usually mean when they throw around the word narcissistic.

Short explained

Autistic means wired differently.
Narcissistic means self-centered in a very particular way.

2 hours ago, Rockyroad said:

AI was correct in your case although on Wednesday you stated;

  • The Internet at Large: Recent 2026 reports suggest that approximately 62% of online information is considered unreliable or false. Studies show that roughly 40% of content shared on social media is technically "fake news" or heavily distorted.
