Remote TV Members: Are you the most remote TV member in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

For many years now, I have wondered who might be the TV Member who lives in the most remote and inaccessible place in Thailand.

Is it you?

Can you justify your distinction?

Surely, there are some members who live high in the mountains, far from the “normal” Thai world that most of us know.

I am referring to the guys who live so high up in faraway mountains that it takes a truck or jeep to get there during the Raining Season. And, even with a jeep, getting there is not so easy.

And, also, how do you, living in these remote villages, remain in touch with us other members who live in country or city areas, we who have easy access to electricity and internet?

How do you manage?

And, how do you deal with the mosquitoes up there, for example?

I have known a few guys/gals at CMU who live/work in very remote areas.

They love it up in the hills.

They survive and thrive there, mostly, or so they told me, on hen's eggs and great goodwill among the villagers.

Most of us on TV have not yet visited these wonderful places.

But, before I leave Thailand, either via aircraft or in a box when I die, I really do want to visit some mountain villages.

Otherwise, if I do not make the effort to visit these remote villages, then I will have missed out on so much of the total Thailand experience.

What is your life like up there in the mountains, anyway?

What do you do for recreation and fun?

I plan to visit you, or an area such as yours….probably next year.

Would the Cold Season be the best time to visit you?

Best regards,

Gamma

If they invite me....

I will come.

Field of dreams.

Would you at least put makeup and clothes on for that event?

You should go to visit some of the members up in Pornkai. You'd love it there.

Are you stating here and now that you are a reasonable contender for being considered one of the members who lives in the REMOTEST PLACE in Thailand?

In order to qualify as a contender:

You must provide your coordinates:

Plus or Minus a radius of about 5 kilometers.

We are NOT asking for your EXACT location.

But, at the very least, you must provide a reasonable approximation of where you hang out.

Plus or Minus 5 kilometers, will do.

Are you up to the challenge of determining your location in Thailand, using modern map coordinates?

I can only assume you are referring to the idiom: Lipstick on a Pig

Don’t be pedantic now, Gloobers. The name of my little village is Roi Tit. Every taxi driver north of Fatpoon knows where it is. And if you don’t, just find Petchabung on the map and you’ll spot it about five clicks south of there.

It’s quite remote, but very peaceful, and I’ve got a well stocked cabinet of cannabis and a fridge full of formaldehyde ridden local beer. And at the local restaurant around the corner from my gaff they serve the best grasshopper and field rat curry known to man.

What time should I expect you? It’s informal, so you don’t have to wear an evening gown or anything fancy. One of your casual hill tribe sundresses will do the job quite nicely.

No need to be so trite about the ladyboys.

IF, where you live, has EVEN ONE taxi driver, then you can be SURE that you are not living in one of the more remote places in Thailand, where, I might add, some TV members obviously reside.

I think YOU think that living in a major city in Thailand is......"remote" living

However, you are much mistaken.

Please believe me.

Definitely not me, as we got a new 7-11 not 2 kms away, and another, a few 100 kms pass that. Nothing near us, and village doesn't even have an intersection with stop signs. Unless we're getting a delivery, nobody drives on our soi, since a dead end stone road.

Even when living very rural at Udon Thani, about 16 kms from a Central Plaza, downtown was less than 30 mins away. And a 7-11 was only 8 kms away.

Now we have about sixteen 7-11 within 6 kms away.

30 kilos from the nearest 7-11. Only noodle, food and hardware shops and a couple of coffee shops around. No deliveries out here. Just quiet and dogs barking.

Why you are so bored. Nothing to do.

Why you are so bored. Nothing to do.

I think your assumptions top your negative score total.

If you must know, today I woke up at 5, made breakfast for my daughter and I. She watched a kid's movie, and after we ate, I finished painting my porch. Then ate again, researching hunting leases and looking at the nonsense you posted, thinking all I do is burn cd's, and sit here. Then I made banana and peanut butter ice cream, which was eaten while watching Last Blood.

After this, I will mop my floors, feed the dogs that think my house is home, and water my trees.

I will later call my daughter so my daughter here could talk to her sister, and catch up on things back home in Texas. Later I will make dinner for us, and we will watch another movie, likely Sicario-Day of the Soldado. After this give her 5 more English words to learn, then test her on those from yesterday. Then it's bed, while watching music videos together and catching up on the daily news and sports scores. Not bored, even though I'm living in one of the most boring areas on earth.

"I will later call my daughter so my daughter here could talk to her sister, and catch up on things back home in Texas." Do you use LINE chat or video chat? both free. We use it every day; all calls / video calls in Thailand and all calls international; US, EU, Australia, Indonesia.

Why not use WeChat, just because we should show moral support for the Chinese, these days.

Strangely enough, I had never heard of Pornkai.

So, being completely ignorant of the term, I asked my friend Gemini.....

My TV remote works fine in Thailand. All buttons function as normal and it changes channels and adjusts volume perfectly.

I replaced it after Susan sat on my old one with her fat arse and broke it. God bless her.

I'll add that none of this has anything to do with my member.

Feel free to protest all you like.

But, we all know that you protest too much, usually.

One can only wonder how you ever made it through a single entire day without your AI Gemini girlfriend. How did you manage before she came into your life, or didn't you?

I assume she still can't assist you with the most important aspects of male existence and that you still need both of your own extremities and a bottle of goop to handle that. Or do you already have a TPE version of Gemini lend you a hand with that too?

Protesting is for people with endless hours of free time who are passionate about never achieving anything. That can be said for all of the topics you create which achieve just that and are a blatant protest of coherence and sanity.

Just messenger. No one has Line back home.

Tell them to read AN. They can see how you spend your time.

Why, they're intelligent . They already know all that I've done in my life. The difference is they don't assume things
