Prosecutors Detail ‘Horrifying’ Murder Case Against D4vd

Prosecutors have laid out graphic and disturbing allegations against singer D4vd, accusing him of murdering a 14-year-old girl and dismembering her body in an attempt to conceal the crime. The 21-year-old, whose legal name is David Burke, has pleaded not guilty, with his legal team maintaining his innocence.

Alleged Premeditated Killing

According to a nine-page court filing, prosecutors claim the victim, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, was lured to D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home in April 2025. They allege the killing was premeditated, driven by fears she would expose their alleged sexual relationship and damage his music career. Investigators believe she was stabbed multiple times shortly after arriving, with her phone activity ceasing the same day.

The filing suggests D4vd attempted to create an alibi by sending messages to the victim after her death, asking about her whereabouts, before ceasing contact entirely days later.

Grisly Efforts To Conceal Evidence

In the days following the alleged murder, prosecutors say D4vd purchased chainsaws, a body bag, heavy-duty bags, and an inflatable pool. They claim he used these items to dismember the body inside his garage, attempting to limit blood evidence.

One of the most shocking allegations is that he amputated two fingers from the victim’s hand because one bore a tattoo of his name, in what prosecutors describe as an effort to “distance himself” from her. Those fingers have not been recovered.

Her remains were allegedly placed in bags and left inside his Tesla, where they decomposed for months before being discovered in September 2025 at an impound lot.

Evidence And Ongoing Proceedings

Authorities say DNA evidence and recovered materials link the scene to the victim, while additional items belonging to her were later found in a remote area of Santa Barbara County. Prosecutors also allege D4vd misled friends and associates about suspicious odours coming from his home and vehicle.

He now faces multiple charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse, and unlawful mutilation of a body. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26, where prosecutors are expected to present further evidence outlining what they describe as a calculated and brutal crime.
