Begin to have Obesity ?

Featured Replies

A new report from the US National Institutes of HealthTrusted Source says that "42.4% (2 in 5) of all American adults have obesity." (The world-wide estimate is 16%.)

But I have a question: When did people stop being obese and--instead--begin to "have obesity?" 🤔

Lefties who hate America use it as an insult.

They take fentanyl for their problems

I never knew SecDef Pete Hegseth was a lefty who hates America!

Pete was the guy who said he was sick and tired of seeing fatties at the Pentagon.

Pete certainly does a good far right fascist act, if he's really an America-hating lefty.

I'd love to see the percentages for Obesity in Farang in Thailand.
Having to watch some of these people try to squeeze into a restaurant booth is pretty sad. Then the 'leaning back' because their butts take up so much room on the seat, their backs don't quite reach...
If your stomach enters the room 20 seconds before your shoulders, and you prefer to live a long and healthy life, think about taking off some of that excess poundage.

Fat Thais everywhere. Seen 100kg Thai women and 150kg Thai men.

It probably began right around the time when the left started to have an identity crisis and pushing their crisis onto every crevice that they could leak it into. So It’s a modification contortion to satisfy the politically correct folks having the mass scale identity crisis such as the DEI crowd and all of whatever out there in that warped realm. To say that someone is obese comes off as an accusation and offend a white skinny DEI agent. To say that someone has obese sounds more like that the person is not fat, the person just happens to have it with them.

I ain’t white, I just happen to have white here with me and I ain’t old, I just happen to have it.

Is it really necessary to force your political views into every thread, even ones having nothing to do with politics?

Lefties made Trump obese?

The waddling blubberbutts I see sporting red caps in Bangkok are obese, and I doubt they are lefties.

Obesity is due to lack of discipline, lack of self-control, and laziness...qualities which are independent of political ideology.

In almost all cases---save for disability or a genuine "hormonal issue"---obesity results from lack of discipline, lack of self-control, lack of self-respect, and laziness.

One gets one body, and it is the most important thing one has. Best to take good care of it. Lack of discipline and self control dealing with the most important thing one has suggests those negative qualities strike every part of a person's life.....from career to relationships. A personality that always looks for the easy way out is not a recipe for success in life.

Nobody goes to bed one night svelte and defined, and then wakes up the next day a land whale. It's one's own fault to be obese.

42.5% obese in the US is disgusting. It's no wonder healthcare constitutes 18% of US GDP. We all pay in higher insurance costs, because fatties often do not carry their own weight. Actuarial tables reflect the odds that any given policy holder will get obese and suffer all the health consequences of that self-inflicted malady.

Yes, it's not easy to be fit. It takes time and effort. All good things take time and effort. I've been a gym rat since playing sports in school, and never intend to stop. I can see and feel the benefits of maintaining a proper weight and muscularity.

It has been said that after age 30, 95% of people ever sprint again. I don't know if that is true, but I would bet it's actually closer to 99%. I prefer sprinting to jogging, because each stride puts 14 times one's body weight on the knees. Sprinting limits the number of strides, while likely maxxing the heart rate. Even walking puts 5 times body weight force on the knees, so carrying a big belly and spare tires puts unnecessary stress on the body. Use a bike if one wants cardio.

Put the fork or spoon down, turn off Netflix, get off the couch, and go hit the gym. MAKE time for it. If a person has time to binge watch TV or go to the store to buy a gallon of ice cream, he or she has time to hit the gym.

Do it (the gym), and absent bad luck, one will live longer, feel better, be healthier, have fewer joint issues, look better, and save money otherwise spent on empty calories.

Of course, there are now some fat Thais, too, but nothing compared to the typical Western expat I see waddling around Bangkok. Many look 8 months pregnant....with twins. The untucked t-shirt doesn't hide it. The Mauri warrior tatts don't make them intimidating, just pathetic. They look as if they'd need a GPS to position their rectum over the toilet bowl. It cannot be comfortable to be that out of shape...walking up stairs, climbing into and out of a car, trying to sleep when an enormous belly is forever in the way.....

Yes, I'm rather strident in this regard. I'm not so "woke" as to think "fat shaming" is bad. It's for a person's own good.

You're the oddball that equates obesity with "lefty" (if you are in need of "senseless").

Your disposition is understandable having reading comprehension issues, the op inquired about the phrasing and rephrasing of jargonâ€Ļ

It's called 'curiosity.'
I understand you are a trump supporter, so I'm happy to help.

Curiosity means a desire to know or learn.

  1. A desire to know about people or things that do not concern one

  2. An object that arouses interest

They eat too many calories. Why they get fat. Scientists knew this a long time ago.

Any other things you want to know?

Yes, thanks!

1. What is the psychological causation behind over-earning?

2. Does that causation cross gender boundaries?

3. What are the cultural factors involved that create such diversity in overeating?

4. What are the socio-economic factors involved?

Thanks for offering to help! 😋

Well, let’s seeâ€Ļ. Not a single citation, so basically just your guesses.

You seem to think the people in Vanuatu are less bored than the people in American Samoa. Have you ANY proof of this?

Perhaps you should stick to politics.

Why would I care ? Only care about three people's BMI and my dog of course.

Others simply have to live with their choices. Being a fat piggy is a personal decision, their choice to be, and it's their problem, not mine or my concern.
