TDAC Problem (Live in Thailand O Visa)

Featured Replies

My first time using TDAC. It's totally kludgy, typical Thai software.

I live in Thailand/ O visa. I used my extension 5678/68 number for the visa

Anyway, the website would not allow me to enter my address. The IO explained why in Thai, but I only caught a shred of it especially after 20 hr flight

I entered Thai channel with the wife

Can someone explain the problem?

Your age and dependency? Not really a problem, more of an inevitability for many of us.

The addressing thing does require the use of drop down menus to 'find' your address, starting from Province first. You also need to know the district (amphur) and sub-district) tambon, all available in drop down menus. The zip code and actual street address are freehand, so there should be no issues there.

For example me, pushing 70, solo traveler, using the foreign passport lines about half-a-dozen times now, I find the TDAC easy peasy and not "totally kludgy." It's only 3 pages and 20-odd entries. What's so hard?

You should use the re-entry permit number for the visa as that was the protocol on the old TM6 card. However, a recent thread indicates that the extension number is acceptable as is leaving that box blank, as they already have all that info on their computer. They are basically making sure that the person filing the TDAC is the same person presenting the passport for entry.

Well, I guess if you filled it out a dozen times is pretty straightforward but this was my first time.

I didn't see any dropdown menu's whatsoever on my phone

Your comments have been less than useless.

First time and every time since on my smartphone. Maybe your phone isn't that smart?

Thanks for trying out.

PS: I said "half-a-dozen", so please don't exaggerate.

I live in Thailand too and like @StarOfLight was surprised that I wasn't able to enter my address. Not that it mattered, as nothing was mentioned at Immigration.

Smartphone? No drop-down menus, starting with Province?

The other drop-down menus worked fine, but not the one for my address. I assumed it wasn't required, and it wasn't.

I think there's an order to filling in the form. I'm going to Europe in a month and I'll have another look.

Probably can play with it within Thailand as well.

Just hoping someone ran into the situation and the issue was clarified.

It's definitely a thing.

Yes you can. Each page has a "cancel" option. Give it a shot and tell us how you get on. It could even be browser-related.

Maybe some browsers aren't showing the buttons and users are going straight to the large space allowed for address without doing the three-step, province, district, sub-district and post code bit first? The address then only needs to be the house number and street, or condo name and number.

I accidentally checked the departure flight on my last arrival card and was wondering why I did not get the option to insert my address in Thailand.
Upon arrival I was refused entry. Another IO came and guided me to a table, where they very quickly explained the problem and stamped me in after I wrote my address on a piece of paper.

@brewsterbudgen you most likely also put a departure date in your application? My mistake was I changed my departure date to the same date as the arrival date, as I could not "uncheck" the departure field.

Not sure why the address was not required when I checked the departure field, but I looked several times and the normal drop-down menu for address was not present.

Im flying in/out 1-2 times per month, so I was not happy about being rejected, but the IOs fixed it within 3-4 mins and let me through next to the Thai passport lane. Well done Thai Immigration. The mistake was all on me.

It's totally shonky. There are slots for two inbound flights. I know I initially just worked down the form placing the arriving flight in the departing. I deleted that attempt.

I seriously doubt there's any security screening on the back end save for maybe sending the passport number to a server to check against blacklist, flags, interpol.

I expect like the form before it - just blah blah.

The form is horribly unintuitive and tedious

On another note the paper forms were an absolute joke. I often wondered how they possibly could file all the people's cards together. It would take an army of bureaucrats and for what? Nothing.
