I think he quoted it as something that a military unit had adapted, rather than bible verse. Either way, the current US administration seem like caricatures.

The last time I spilled my guts luckily it all ended up in the toilet. Never quite figured out which food item caused it. Can't say I'd ever want to go through that again.

Wow, I am so glad you’re still here, Harris. I was worried that you had suddenly run away back over to your dear Pornhub YouTube and Google Maps. Meanwhile, you still haven’t hit your daily quota of at least 100 inspiring posts like this one today, so it’s a relief to all of us that you haven’t called it a day yet on your bit of “light AN entertainment.”

Now that you’re back from your 10 second holiday, perhaps you can teach all of us how you manage your ignore list so well? Also, I just want to reconfirm I’m still on it, given that you have already replied to a number of my posts today.

The prayer recited by Hegseth which he clearly attributed to the head of Combat Search and Rescue who rescued the downed American aviators in Iran as a prayer used by Combat Search and Rescue and not the bible, or Pulp Fiction as the lying left (redundant) claims.

He wasn't saying he was the son of God. Rome looked at Jesus as an instigator to a possible uprising. He was looked at as the King of the Jews which was a threat to their power.

Clearly a comment of a person born with a silver spoon in his mouth and looking like Robert Redford in his yonger years and can afford "mistresses" in old Europe. Why sould such people travel to Thailand to find "mistresses"? Lucky you. Keep critisising the rest of the pagan wold that ever set foot on Thai soil, looking for "lower-cost mistresses".

No silver spoon in my mouth at birth, you don't think normal people can make a success in life in a place like the UK through hard work and brains, that is a pity.

How is mine or anyone else success related to the many losers who come to Thailand and brag about paying for bar girls who they then claim loved them, how stupid is that?

It does not matter if I can afford to buy women in the UK, It is true, but I never made a comment like that, that is something you made up, I have never had to buy one anywhere, there are many out there who are not bar girls.

But my response was to the brag nonsense about buying women, anyone can do it but many of us do not want or have to.

Try and stick to reality and to what people have written and not make up daft comments like the Robert Redford remark for example, that is just childish.

But the Robert Redford remark does show your advance age and I bet it is now a waste of money paying for bar girls anymore in your case. 😀

It's certainly not your nature 😊 You are part of the 'evil and pain' Do you think you are being good when lashing out and being abusive, then blaming others for your behaviour?

Do you not realize there are millions of people who prefer the country life? And that there is transportation if you want to go to the larger cities? When we move back, I will still live in the country around 40 miles from the nearest large city, and less than 2 hours from the nearest beach, so it's the same with many more amenities. 7-11 isn't wonderland. And your reply has nothing to do with what you replied to.

My Eureka moment, maybe predicatably, involved real estate. I worked the same job in northern Virginia for 30 years--loved it but it was low-paying and I was usually living pay check to pay check, hoping each month for no big expense that would sink me.

The one smart thing I did was to use my biggest chunk of monthly cash--my rent payment--and spend it on myself, rather than the landlord. I scraped up enough savings and, with a small loan from Dad, bought my first condo--the monthly PITI was about the same as what I had been paying in rent.

Fixed the first condo up in my spare time, sold it at a profit, and did the same thing a few more times, making a profit each time. Around condo 6 was when Eureka hit. The rich lady next door wanted to buy my one-bedroom condo and combine it with her much larger condo and she made me an offer far more than its assessed value. I sold and netted about $40,000. Not a lot of money for many, I know, but at the time, 2003, I was only making around $35,000 a year at my job so it was huge for me. Suddenly, I had a big chunk of change in the bank and I could finally relax some, financially.

Trampolines, staircases, elevators, etc.

Fair enough. But how can you see it if there is no brain activity to interpret the images that the eyes are sending.

Swissie, my handle on this forum is a play on words. This country stresses me out so much that I am "fit to be tied" most of the time. Living here requires great patience and tolerance, and I am not quite there yet and perhaps never will be; but thank the Lord, HE is still working on me to conform me to His character.

"Fit to be tied" means extremely angry or agitated, suggesting someone is in such a state that they might need to be restrained. The phrase likely originated in the early 19th century, possibly relating to the idea of tying someone up due to their intense emotions.

Thanks for explaining. I take it you live in Thailand. It must be stressful fo you to live among Thais, 95% believing in Buddha. It could be worse if you would be living in India. 33 thousand Gods available.

According to your belief, all those people believe in "the wrong God". If it wasen't for Paul (Paulus) the greatest ancient PR agent there ever was, the minor "christian-sect" would have evaporated into nothing, like all other sects that were present during the lifetime of Jesus. There were many, expecting "armageddon" soon during this time.

Without Paul, we would not go to church on sunday morning, because there would be no churches.

It is not to forget: The fan club of Jesus was small (12 apostles). Every mediocre local Rock Band has more apostles. But none with the PR capabilities of ancient Paul.

Hello swissie! Yes, it's not easy for me to be surrounded by non-believers in Christ. When one receives Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit gives each one a unique spiritual gift to use within the body of Christ for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God on earth and the edification of the saints. By the way, the Catholic Church doesn't have a monopoly on sainthood. The Word of God called every "born again believer in Christ" a saint. In the CC sainthood is earned by works, but in the Kingdom of God, sainthood is given to all freely by grace.

In my case I received the gift of "discerning of spirits". In the 16 years that I have lived here, I can count of one hand the number of people I have come across that have the Spirit of God dwelling in them, and all the rest of them have the spirit of anti-Christ. All of us are surrounded on all sides by evil, and with my unique gift there is constant spiritual warfare going on around me. By the end of each day my head is spinning. It is a miserable existence, but every now and again the Holy Spirit will send me someone with whom I can share a clear presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that makes my sacrifice all worthwhile.

As for the spread of Christianity in the beginning, the 12 spread the message of redemption through Christ, but the Holy Spirit grew the church. No man could stop the expansion, and even today, "the gates of hell will not prevail against the church (the called-out ones)". God started it, and He will continue to sustain it.

Matthew 16:18....

And I also say to you that you are Peter (the little rock), and on this rock (Jesus, the big rock) I (Jesus) will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Acts 2: part of 47....
And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
