I get as far as the 1st sentence before howlin' disinformation rears its ugly head. Bro, have you even seen the Nasdaq performance since the big, beautiful tariffs were announced?! Now I know the forum left panicked and liquidized their portfolios back then after their fake news media assured us the stock market was going somewhere very hot in a handbasket, but its been a one way street. Up.

God bless DJT and his incredible economy😅

Lucky to encounter such outrageous lies in the 1st sentence as saved me from having to wade through the rest of this latest tantrum.

Yeah from all that I have read, besides the corruption involve in insider trading, some folks are making money off the markets while the really rich and powerful can hardly count all the millions/billions they are raking in while "average Joe Citizen" had to choose between paying the rent , filling up the gas tank so he go to work to make some money, or pay the electric bill while all the rich off the market are laughing while the president continues his illegal war! My IMHO anyway from talking with friends and family living in the USA right now. Your comment about look at how the markets are zooming up so who cares about any corruption or the average people? Just like the Attorney General comment at the Congressional hearings when she was slammed for derliction of duty shouting why are you concerned about the Epstein files when the market is at 50,000!,

It's worth remembering that the last time a grown-up was the president, the US was respected globally, and world leaders came visiting the WH.

Now, Trump is the one traveling, hat in hand.

When president Obama was in power, president Xi visited twice. And when president Obama visited China, President Xi met and greeted him at the airport.

When Trump arrived, he was met by a busboy.😂

Not surprising as many in the US or European medias are a bunch of disrespectful, desperate vultures seeking to get that shot that will earn them the extra bucks. If the European or US VIP security are weak or inefficient, there is no messing with the chinks and their crack team VIP security units.

Yes, they are, Alex.

Didn't notice the joke of the day competition.

That has to be the outright winner.

If he didn’t know what Xi Jinping meant by raising the specter of the Thucydides Trap when he arrived in Beijing, you can be sure that he does now.

Of course he knows -- never to miss a trick. From Truth Social:

When President Xi very elegantly referred to the United States as perhaps being a declining nation, he was referring to the tremendous damage we suffered during the four years of Sleepy Joe Biden and the Biden Administration, and on that score, he was 100% correct. ...

President Xi was not referring to the incredible rise that the United States has displayed to the world during the 16 spectacular months of the Trump Administration ...

Two years ago, we were, in fact, a Nation in decline. On that, I fully agree with President Xi! But now, the United States is the hottest Nation anywhere in the world, and hopefully our relationship with China will be stronger and better than ever before!

Handshake wise Trump's hand is dominant.

I pretty much doubt that based on his facial expression, in past meeting he did hold harder on Xi but this time the Chinese was expecting it and that took Trump by surprise... what goes around comes around

as I said before, we will have 2 completely different versions, Trump already started his by claiming it a fantastic result fro the US business people, same type of business deals they spoke about during their previous meetings, China promised investments in the USA and promised to buy billions in soy beans... oh BTW they never materialized and the same will happen this time, Trump doesn't know Chinese nor does he knows other Asian countries including Iran, the news in China are completely different, they don't start to speak about the contents of their conversation right away, they are not showman type government, they are wise, the comments below don't show a "fantastic" meeting with a lot of good deals for the US, he said Xi wants to help with opening the strait but the Chinese didn't say that, the Foreign minister said that before it was open and navigation was free but ONLY Trump's actions changed that in other words the meeting was just about fanfare and flattery to Xi, same as he did to Putin, he did however lower his tonality, attitude and behavior, closing the eyes, one could imagine that was not the arrogant Trump that the world knows

China has shown little public interest in getting more involved in solving the war in Iran. Xi also suggested differences over Taiwan could put his country and the U.S. on the path toward conflict. Threats of each side imposing steep tariffs also still loom.

Trump said Xi told him China wants to help negotiate an end to the war and a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz

The Latest: US-China summit ends with Xi and Trump claiming progress but differences remain

A few things to consider here. First of all Xi won Trump's insane trade war, hands down. Trump was knocked out cold, 2 minutes into the first round. He simply does not know how to negotiate his way out of a paper bag. And he was likely outclassed by 60 or 70 IQ points. Which is not hard. Let's give Don an F grade.

Second, in general, Asia is on the ascent, while the West, and especially the US, is on the decline. For a few decades, but worse now, than before.

I look at the US, and I see the Western Roman empire circa mid 5th century, prior to Odoacer marching into Rome.

Trump simply precipitated the inevitable decline. Whether or not the CCP remains in charge is irrelevant to China's growth and dominance. I don't like it. But, it is what it is. I predict in 50 years or so, the US will only be the 4th or 5th biggest world power.

There is no doubt the US is losing it's influence daily, and the remaining influence largely is due to the size of the economy (China remains a distant second), and the military (China may have a technically larger navy, but it lacks long range vessels and deep sea ports).

However, it does scare me to think of which nation may take it's place, when the time comes. It definitely will not be Russia (they are relatively insignificant economically), and I sure hope it will not be China, as they are not exactly a beacon of morality, and have been substantially more of a bully on the world stage, and do not wear their power lightly. Also, in my opinion, the government there is significantly more morally bankrupt than the US. And that is saying alot.

Compared to the USA how many World disputes has China stuck their noses into and may I add lost.

Xi's parting "gift" to the departing and fully humiliated Mr. Trump.

Rose SEEDS.

To plant in the rose garden that Trump tore up to cover with cement.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

Discounting the oil China might or might not loose due to the Americans, what he gains is: the largest part of active aircraft carriers concentrated on the other side of the planet, the USA having used up years of produciton in high end anti air missiles, the USA removing anti air batteries form Korea and Japan, the USA falling out ever further with its allies.

From the perspective of the Chinese, they really would want to have Trump stay president as long as possible, watching the USA implode all by itself, so they will smile and shake hands and make promises... and play for time. They will not need much of it.

I just talked yesterday to a nice business woman from Taiwan, having come over for a trade show: they are scared <deleted>less, because the USA is more than useless for them by now, whenever Trump opens his mouth it makes this more obvious.

She prognosed, that China will be able to take Taiwan without a shot fired, maybe at some stage very soon to be invited, because the Americans will not be able to help militarily, even if they wanted to (a very big if), and the Taiwanese can clearly see, at which point it is just good business sense to work together with China economically instead of being a bombed out shell.

There's no question that the economy is doing well for the top 10%, it's the bottom 70 or 80% that are really struggling. Many did not plan as well as you did, they don't have significant Investments or properties and in the real world the economy is in big trouble. Consumer confidence in America is in the toilet.

There are multiple ways to manipulate the economy in such a way that the stock market over performs, but we all know that's just temporary. You can't kick a can down the road forever. Get ready.

Based on debt, more similar to the Spanish Empire. The Spanish Empire was funded through debt, it became embroiled in countless expensive wars, and increasingly, it failed to convert wealth into productivity. The counter argument is that the US is still a technological leader. But the US right now has an appetite to cut its own throat, with respect to immigration. Its evident on this forum that many Americans are totally anti-immigration, especially immigration from India and East Asia, fearing that such immigration would irrevocably change American culture forever, in not a good way.

Over the next 20-30 years, the success of a country/nation/region will be measured through tech, so-called "AI".

If the US took drastic action over immigration to reduce Asian immigration to essentially zero, if can expect to maint technological dominance for the next 5 years. But in 15 years, China will be the technologically dominant power; following that, China's global influence will exponentially increase.

I'll still be alive when that happens. Most of you lot won't be.

this guy turns/changes attitude as fast as the wind, before it was all about Taiwan friendship and support as they promised to built microchips factories in the US, all of a sudden he meets with Xi and all changed but this is a very familiar behavior from him just remember his support for Ukraine/Zelensky how great of a guy he was and that Ukraine was winning the war with Russia, then he decided to roll the red carpet for the POS Russian dictator, at the end of the meeting Ukraine & Zelensky became a pariahs, same is happening with Taiwan and the funny thing is that his cronies here at AN still support his erratic behavior, how can he say that Taiwan should not get independence fro China, Taiwan is a Republic governed by it's own people and was Never , really Never part of China

US President Donald Trump has cautioned Taiwan against formally declaring independence from China... what a stupid comment

Trump warns Taiwan against declaring independence, hours after summit with China's Xi

US and Taiwan sign $250B trade deal, cutting tariffs on Taiwanese goods

https://apnews.com/article/semiconductors-chips-tsmc-taiwan-trump-china-95de4082d5e36a3c0a0b00f613a5df39

In a statement, the U.S. Department of Commerce said the deal with Taiwan would establish an “economic partnership” to create several “world-class” U.S.-based industrial parks in order to help build up domestic production. The department described it as “a historic trade deal that will drive a massive reshoring of America’s semiconductor sector.”

I didn't had the opportunity to look at Trump close, did anybody notice if his nose was a little more brownish/darkish with so much axx kissing to Xi it should be expected

Trump said Xi told him he opposed Taiwan's independence... what a surprise did anybody expected something else

The summit was filled with ‌pageantry, from goose-stepping soldiers to tours of a secret garden. But behind closed doors, Xi issued a stark warning to Trump that any mishandling of China's top concern, Taiwan, could spiral into conflict.
